Position Overview
The Pediatric Medical Doctor will serve as a cornerstone of clinical excellence at our facility,
delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to a diverse pediatric population. This role
requires a clinician who is not only an expert in child health but also a dedicated educator and a
proactive problem-solver in an outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence & Patient Care
● Comprehensive Care: Provide high-quality primary, preventive, and emergency
outpatient care for infants, children, and adolescents.
● Acute & Chronic Management: Lead the diagnosis and long-term management of
pediatric conditions, with a specific focus on infectious diseases (malaria, respiratory
tract infections), neonatal follow-ups, and chronic malnutrition.
● Developmental Tracking: Oversee comprehensive growth monitoring and
developmental screenings, ensuring early intervention for delayed milestones.
● Clinical Protocols: Implement and refine evidence-based clinical protocols to
standardize care across the pediatric department.
Caregiver Engagement & Public Health
● Holistic Education: Counsel families on nutrition, breastfeeding, sanitation, and home-
based care to reduce re-admission rates.
● Community Health Integration: Support immunization campaigns and health
surveillance to track prevalent local health trends.
Leadership & Administration
● Mentorship: Actively supervise and train junior clinicians, nurses, and interns, fostering
a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
● Medical Records Management: Maintain rigorous documentation standards in the
facility’s management system, ensuring data integrity for patient follow-ups and facility
reporting.
● Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with the pharmacy, lab, and
administrative teams to streamline the patient journey from triage to discharge.
● Quality Assurance: Lead peer-review sessions or case studies to analyze clinical
outcomes and improve safety standards.
Our Ideal Candidate
Qualifications & Experience
● Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
● Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of post-residency experience in pediatric
clinical practice.
● Licensure: Fully licensed (or immediately eligible) to practice with the Liberia Medical
and Dental Council (LMDC).
● Specialization: Proven track record in pediatric medicine; additional certification in
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is highly desirable.
