Program / Department Summary
Mercy Corps has been present in Liberia since 2003, focusing its interventions on Youth Employment and Empowerment, Food Security, WASH, and Governance. With funding from the EU, AFD, USDA, and USAID, Mercy Corps has been able to work together with communities in Liberia to respond to these priorities/ needs, bringing benefits to thousands of Liberians.
The Operations Department provides key support to the entire Liberia program in procurement, asset management, warehouse management, fleet management, and facilities & office management for successful program implementation.

General Position Summary
The Admin and ICT Assistant will provide essential support to Mercy Corps’ daily operations by ensuring smooth IT functionality and efficient administrative processes. This role serves as the first point of contact for IT troubleshooting while also supporting administrative logistics, asset management, and office coordination tasks to ensure optimal performance and service delivery.

Essential Job Responsibilities
IT and Support Functions
1. Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, internet connectivity, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.).
2 . Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, network devices, and software applications.
3. Support staff with routine IT queries and escalate unresolved issues to the Senior Operations Officer or external providers.
4. Assist the Senior Operations Officer in maintaining IT equipment inventory and ensuring timely updates and maintenance.
5. Ensure that antivirus and other security tools are regularly updated and functioning.

 

Administrative Support Functions
1. Assist the Senior Operations Officer with procurement processes, including collecting quotations, vendor communication, and preparing purchase requests.
2. Assist the Senior Operations Officer in maintaining an accurate inventory of office supplies, IT equipment, and administrative assets.
3. Assist the Senior Operations Officer in the coordination of logistics for meetings, travel, and office events.
4. Assist the Senior Operations Officer to ensure the office environment is well-maintained and office supplies are replenished on time.

Asset Management Support
1. Liaise with the Senior Operations Officer in maintaining and updating the asset register in line with organizational and donor requirements.
2. Support the Senior Operations Officer in ensuring all assets are properly tagged, recorded, and tracked.
3. Support with the periodic physical verification of assets in collaboration with the Senior Operations Officer.
4. Support with the management of the asset register to ensure an adequate record of asset issuance, movement, return, and disposal processes with appropriate documentation.
5. Assist during internal and external audits regarding asset records and controls.

SECURITY
●Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by country leadership.
●Proactively ensure that team members operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies.

Reports Directly to: Senior Operations Officer
Works Directly with: Finance, Programs, and People & Culture

Knowledge and Experience
•University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, and related IT degrees with certifications in hardware and software management and application
•Minimum two years of work experience, preferably within the INGO sector
•Effective verbal and written communication, organizational skills – Fluency in both written and spoken English.
•Good Understanding of interest in the provision of IT Support services that takes into consideration the management of cross-cultural issues within a high security environment.
•Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
•Proven ability to solve problems independently with minimal direct supervision.
