MISSION/CORE PURPOSE

The Analyst, Product Banktech is responsible to develop and drive projects implementation across various segments. Ensure the deployment of Banktech product: Mobile Money Advance, virtual cards, Push & Pull, etc. and drive performance. Enhance and manage the Bank Push & Pull Product and any product relating to Banking. Achieve maximum profitability from MoMo Advance, Bank Push & Pull, Cards and Savings & Lending. Have targets that should reflect the increase of product & Services on the Mobile Money platform. Maintain cordial working relationship with Financial Institutions, third party processors and ensure that all projects are executed timely.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Performance Area:

  • Deliver virtual cards, MoMo Advance, additional Push & Pull, Savings and loans products within the stipulated timeline
  • Deliver business targets set by Manager, Mobile Money in accordance with the overall Lonestar Cell MTN Mobile Money Inc. strategy
  • Develop User Requirement Specification (URS) document and conduct User Acceptance test (UAT) for any new product before Go Live
  • Manage an End-to-end Product Life Cycle of assigned products
  • Ensure optimal utilization of all assigned tools and resources.
  • Drive the Mobile Money Eco System Development
  • Ensure the growth and usage of all implemented projects and drive profitability
  • Handle queries from all financial institutions, third party processors, consultants and partners
  • Ensure that all partnered Financial Institutions Branches are actively driving Mobile Money transactions
  • Prepare and compile daily, weekly, and monthly activities report and share with various stakeholders.
  • Prepare key status report for presentation at executive committee meetings, war-room, point of sales, CEO, WECA and Operations dashboard
  • Promote a ‘MTN centric’ and ‘partnership approach’ to develop strong relationships with other working groups and ensure adherence to Group governance and Central Bank Regulations
  • Help support the Manager: Product & Services in providing strategic direction for Mobile Financial Services by analyzing changes in the competitive landscape, analyzing trends and implementing them into the business plan

Knowledge

  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and communicate effectively with all levels of Senior Management, Government, Banking Official, Academia, NGOs and the General Public
  • Ability to establish partnerships and to manage animation teams
  • Good understanding of sales/financial standards and principles
  • A good understanding of VISA and Mastercard processes
  • Ability to resolve basic technical issues relating to products
  • A very good knowledge on credit risks and mitigation
  • Very good knowledge and presentation skills using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, other relevant software and hardware skills (for the purpose of producing reports to Senior Management and Partners) and working along with partners to resolve technical issues

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Educations:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration) or related areas
  • Minimum of 4 years’ tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Information Technology, project management, Marketing, or related subject
  • Masters’ degree and technical certification are added advantage

Experience:

  • 3-4 years’ experience in Banking, Information Technology, project management or related field
  • 2 years’ experience in a telecommunications, credit/lending, Mobile financial services, Digital Financial Services, project management, financial institution project management and implementation role
  • Experience in field visit
  • Track-record in implementing Digital Financial Services projects
  • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous.
  • Proven track record in managing processors, partners and consultants that you have worked with to implement projects
  • Fluent in English preferable
  • Knowledge of risk and regulatory laws of the Mobile Financial Services industry
  • Technical knowledge on product implementation
  • Knowledge on credit/ lending
