Who we are?
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German federal enterprise offering workable, sustainable and effective solutions in political, economic and social change processes.
On behalf of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, GIZ supports the Government of Liberia in the health sector through a project focusing on the improvement of surveillance and response system for diseases, especially those with epidemic potential in the partner counties in south east Liberia.
In furtherance for said support, the HSSEP project intends to provide support to 3 targeted counties in the South East (Grand Kru, Maryland and River Gee) to implement the laboratory quality management approach (according to SLIPTA/SLMTA) and Antimicrobial Resistance Stewardship program. The Technical Advisor will support the two GIZ technical advisors in the implementation of the laboratory quality management approach and steer independently the support to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the three counties.

Duty Station: Maryland, Harper with frequent travel to Grand Kru, River Gee and Monrovia, possibly to Grand Gedeh and Sinoe
Contract Period: Subject to agreement of the commissioner, this post is available from September 2022 up to June 2023.
Responsibilities
Support the antimicrobial stewardship programmes (AMS) at selected clinical sites as a systematic effort to educate and persuade prescribers of antimicrobials to follow evidence-based prescribing. Support GIZ TAs with the implementation of laboratory quality management improvement activities.
