Mercy Corps responsibilities
For the duration of this internship assignment the intern will receive: all the trainings and capacity building
to deliver the duties assigned to him/her.
Intern responsibilities
The intern will remain responsible for all duties assigned to him/her based of trainings given by Mercy Corps
the intern’s responsibilities below:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Asset & Store Controller Intern will support the daily logistics functions of the Operations department, which include
asset management and store management. The intern will gain hands-on experience in operations and
organizational culture development while supporting the execution of key initiatives that enhance the intern
experience at Mercy Corps.
This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in operations and
organizational development within an international non-profit organization.
INTERN’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
ASSET MANAGEMENT
1. Assisting in all aspects of asset inventory management of all items in the office in coordination with the
operations department for both Buchanan, Rivercess, and Monrovia, according to Mercy Corps Field
Asset Management Policy.
2. Assisting on logging all new Mercy Corps assets in Liberia in the asset register and ensure the
appropriate coding and tags are placed on each item
3. Assisting on timely preparation of documentation of any movement of assets in Mercy Corps format
(Asset Movement Form)
4. Assisting on scheduling and conducting asset physical verification on different locations, projects and
sites
5. Assisting on ensuring all lost, damage, sold, stolen (or other) items are properly recorded in with an
approved Disposal of Asset Form
6. Assisting on maintaining the asset stock of Mercy Corps assets that are not checked out and in use
7. Assisting on updating electronic database monthly and provide an electronic copy to supervisor and head
of operations
STORE MANAGMENT
1. Assisting on all aspect of store management of all items in the office in coordination with the operations
department in Monrovia
2. Assisting on receiving the goods as per the description on the Purchase Order
3. Assisting on completing the necessary documentation according to the Mercy Corps field warehouse
management policy
4. Assisting on maintaining the electronic store database
5. Assisting on generating waybill and gate passes
OTHERS
1. Be adaptable and flexible to take new tasks and new assignments as requested by supervisor or Head of
Operations
2. Conduct him/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy
Corps in Liberia and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
Qualifications:
Fresh graduate from an accredited and reputable university
Excellent Communication skills
A demonstrated ability to multitask and process information into action in a timely manner
A strong interest in people operations, human resources, or organizational culture.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
A proactive and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
Strong computer skill on using Microsoft Office tools (excel, words, etc)
Fluency in English Language.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week
The intern will be paid a monthly allowance of 200 USD
Mercy Corps interns and volunteers represent the agency both during and outside of work hours and are
