JOB DESCRIPTION

CLASSIFICATION: A 1

REPORT TO: Head Brewer

DEPARTMENT: Brewhouse

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct, perform and understand computerize brewing (Crushing, Mashing, Lautering, boiling Pitching), and CIP processes;
• Monitor and verify that all brewing vessels are clean before and after brewing;
• Supervise the operators and casual workers during the brewing process;
• Supervise and perform the milling process according to specification;
• Ensure aeration during pitching of wort
• Ensure that Operator(s) collect Yeast Food from the Laboratory for brewing;
• Take initiative at all times of operations;
• Coordinate the maintenance of all utensil’s materials within the Control room;
• Monitor and verify the Malt store before (Crushing, Mashing, Lautering and Pitching) products;
• Counter check the water situation at water plant before mashing a brew;
• Conduct weekly and monthly stock count of brewing materials
• Conduct fumigation according to schedule
• Liaise effectively with other sections during brewing;
• Perform related duties as required by supervisor.

POSITION SPECIFICATION (Education, Training, Experience, Skills):

• Degree in Chemistry/Biology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Electrical or mechanical skills are added advantage
• Computer knowledge (MS word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Problem solving ability/fast thinking ability
• Report writing ability
• Analytical skills
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to perform highly physical tasks
• Tools management skills
• Excellent attention to details and duties
