ABOUT THE JOB:
AMAS is looking for a new CEO for its banking business in Liberia – Diaconia MDI.
The business started its operations in the spring of 2015 and is the only regulated
microfinance deposit-taking institution (MDI) in Liberia. AMAS has ambitious business
goals and the new CEO will play a key role in its further development. In addition to
safeguarding operational responsibility for 44 employees and the day-to-day running
of the lending business, the right candidate must both be willing and able to continue
to drive development in one of the world’s most demanding markets.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Handling the bank’s operations and goal achievement.
• Secure a healthy loan portfolio in one of the world’s most difficult markets.
• Follow-up of the bank’s employees and ensure development and competence
enhancement.
• Secure portfolio growth, also through new markets / products.
• Be a driving force in digital solutions.
• Some governmental contact.
• Committee work and reporting to the board.
Qualifications:
• Higher financial and/or legal degree, equivalent to master’s.
• Documented results and performance.
• Significant work experience, mainly from banking.
• Experience from management work.
• Excellent communicator, written and verbally in English.
• Personal characteristics:
• Analytical and structured.
• Very good communication skills.
• Adaptable and solution-oriented.
• Proactive and committed.
• A desire to achieve results beyond oneself, contribute to the development of
others.
• Wish to be a part of a Christian organization and identify with the values of
the bank.
