Background:
The Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC) is Liberia’s oldest and most representative institution advocating the business interest of a very diverse private sector, representing over 150 companies and business associations. The Chamber of Commerce has been an influential force for businesses in the Republic of Liberia since 1951, created by an Act of Legislation. The LCC is also the representative of Employers under the tripartite arrangement with the Government of Liberia.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications and Marketing Intern will support LCC’s communications, marketing and IT functions and lead in the development and production of communications products and digital content. He/ She will use their knowledge and creativity to support LCC’s digital activity, helping to grow our presence and engagement, particularly on social media, under the supervision of the Secretary General.
Communications and Marketing functions Digital Communications
- Regularly update and manage LCC’s website and social media platforms
- Source and draft appropriate, relevant content from LCC’s programs, events and activities for LCC’s social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn and LCC’s Business Network)
- Monitor social media and digital news sources to share and repost relevant content to the business community
- Lead in the development and upload of our website content, liaising with the SG Office and other related staff and businesses. (upload after endorsement by SG, including editing and proof reading)
- Collation of monthly web, social media analytics to support evaluation and strategic planning
- Lead in collecting, organizing, selecting and making use of powerful images on social media to promote the Chamber’s visibility (Website picture gallery)
- Ensure brand consistency and strength in all of LCC’s activities and across platforms.
- Assist in creating simple but effective photo quotes, graphics and infographics for social media and newsletter, eg. member’s special discounts prices during holiday and other promotions
- Investigate new ways to improve LCC’s information dissemination on social media with the aim of reaching new audiences and allies
Internal Communications
- Assist in the implementation of LCC’s communication’s strategy and prepare a work plan for activities
- Develop, edit content and lead in the production of LCC’s monthly internal E-Bulletin and quarterly newsletter.
- Cover all LCC’s activities, including internal meetings, events and collect high quality pictures, videos and produce reports for content generation.
- Draft press releases and news articles
- Assist in the review and design of LCC’s information, education & communication (IEC) materials, to include membership/visitor’s packages
- Coordinate LCC’s activities in the media (Print and Electronic)
- Maintain media contact database
- Prepare quarterly communications report
Events
- Support in the planning, communications and logistics for external events, for example, business meetings, travels staff are attending, and events organized by the LCC.
Others:
- Represent the Secretary General (SG) at communications related functions/meetings Perform any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, Public Administration, Public Relation, Mass Communication, Marketing.
- Must have a minimum of five years’ work experience.
