Duration: 1 (one) Year and renewable base on funding

Our vision is to ensure the Social, Educational and Economic Empowerment of Liberians with a
special focus on women and young people. The mission of H.O.P.E., Inc. is to empower the
Liberian people through socio-economic programs and community-based initiatives. H.O.P.E. is
divided into three departments, Social Empowerment, Educational Empowerment and
Economic Empowerment. Since 2001, H.O.P.E Inc. has had significant experience in training,
planning, management, and partnership development in community based initiatives. H.O.P.E.
Inc. emphasizes a practical, hands-on approach and brings community members and key
institutions together to create solutions to social issues. H.O.P.E, Inc. provides opportunities for
community members to participate in civic duties and community empowerment programs that
will enhance the quality of their lives.
JOB SUMMARY
The Community Mobilizer is responsible for all project activities at the field level with support
from the Field Coordinator
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
➢ Interface with community and district day-to-day implementation and coordination of the
HOPE Enough program activities in district of responsibility
➢ Support mobilization and organization of communities in reviewing intensive SGBV
awareness using standard IEC materials provided.
➢ In collaboration with community members, identify, establish, mobilize and train SGBV
Committee members, Boys2man Club members, Girl Clubs members and conduct
refresher trainings for them to enhance sustainability of activities.
➢ Monitoring and supporting the functioning of SGBV Committees, Boys2man and Girl
Clubs on implementation of developed action-plan and awareness activities on
preventing SGBV in conjunction with the local authorities.
➢ Support any other SGBV-related activities conducted directly by HOPE, or in
collaboration with actors or partners working on SGBV program.

➢ Ensure all work done with communities is carried out in a manner that is respectful and
sensitive to local culture, community needs and gender equality.
➢ Schedule and coordinate meetings with SGBV committees, Girl Clubs and Boy2man
Clubs and GoL agencies working on SGBV program.
➢ Facilitate the development of Behavior Change Communication (BCC) tools and
contribute to outreach activities.
➢ Participate in SGBV related studies and surveys and data collection for program
development and improvement
➢ Prepare and submit monthly work plan to supervisor for review, approval and execution
of activities as indicated in the plan
➢ Perform extra other duties as the need arise
Qualifications
➢ A minimum of High School Certificate, diploma or equivalent, an added advantage of
university degree in social sciences, development studies or related field;
➢ Certificate and/or at least two years’ work experience at community level with
governmental or Non-Governmental organizations
➢ Overall program management including planning, coordinating, organizing, delegating,
budgeting and report writing.
➢ Strong motivation, team player, ability to multi- task and excellent client service skill
➢ Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
➢ Ability to work in multi-culture and multi-disciplinary environment
➢ Very good at community mobilization and familiar with community entry strategies and
Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA)
➢ Excellent Communication and use of various presentation skills
➢ Knowledge in computer skill Ms. Word, Power point, Publisher, Excel and internet
surfing
➢ Participatory training skills and methodologies
➢ Have respect for humanitarian code of conduct and inter-agency working relationship
➢ Sensitive to gender issues
➢ Motorcycle riding skills and good maintenance
