About the Project

In partnership with PLAY International and funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), Mercy Corps is implementing Phase II of the Ejo 2 program (April 2023 – February 2026) in Grand Bassa and Rivercess counties. The initiative promotes inclusive, play-based education (“playdagogy”) for children aged 6–15, aiming to improve learning outcomes and address gender inequality and social issues through sport.

 

Position Summary

Mercy Corps seeks two Community Monitors (one per county) to support field implementation, training, data collection, and community mobilization. The Monitors will work closely with the Project Coordinator and partners to ensure program goals are met.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor activities in Ejo II schools and submit regular reports
  • Collect data using digital tools (ONA platform)
  • Support focal teachers and troubleshoot digital reporting tools
  • Mobilize and engage community stakeholders
  • Organize community co-design sessions
  • Assist with training for teachers and local animators
  • Support administrative and logistical tasks, including planning and procurement

 

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Social Sciences, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Resident of Grand Bassa or Rivercess
  • Motorbike riding ability required
  • Proficiency with tablets, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively within assigned county
  • Passion for education, sport, and community development
