Background:

Since 1991, Save the Children International (SCI) has supported children and communities in Liberia through development and humanitarian programmes focused on education, child protection, health and nutrition, child rights governance, livelihoods, youth empowerment, and community development.

Over the past decade, SCI’s interventions have generated significant achievements, partnerships, and lessons learned that warrant documentation. As SCI’s current operational presence in Liberia changes in response to funding constraints, there is an opportunity to preserve institutional knowledge, recognize the contributions of key stakeholders, and showcase both accomplishments and ongoing needs.

This consultancy will produce an evidence-based, human-centred documentary and digital storytelling package that highlights what has changed, who contributed to those changes, key lessons learned, capacities strengthened, and opportunities for sustainability. The content will support donor engagement, advocacy, stakeholder relations, communications, and institutional memory.

The storytelling must accurately reflect the current context, acknowledging both progress and remaining challenges. It should avoid suggesting that children’s needs have been fully addressed or that future SCI operations in Liberia are guaranteed, while preserving the possibility of future engagement if approved.

Purpose and objectives:

The consultant will produce a compelling, evidence-based, and child-centred documentary and supporting digital assets that capture:

  • Key achievements and programme impact.
  • Stories of change from children, families, communities, and stakeholders.
