 NOTICE OF FORMAL TENDERS

FORMATIVE RESEARCH ON RESPECTFUL MATERNITY CARE

Americares is US-based non-governmental organization (NGO) that was recently awarded funding by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement the Community Partnerships for Respectful Care (CPRC) Project. CPRC will promote respectful maternity care practices at selected health facilities in Liberia and Tanzania and increase the number of expectant mothers and children utilizing health services in Montserrado County.

Americares is partnering with Christian Connections for International Health (CCIH) to promote respectful maternity care in the member facilities of the Christian Health Association of Liberia (CHAL).Georgetown University’s Business for Impact team is partnering with Americares by leveraging their behavioral science and human-centered design expertise to both improve health care provider behaviors and norms and improve client and community stakeholders’ knowledge and ability to advocate for quality health services.

Americares invites qualified applicants to submit proposals for one or more of the three following tenders:

  1. Quantitative household survey at community level to gather baseline data about respectful maternity care
  2. Qualitative study at community level to gather in-depth insights about respectful maternity care
  3. Mixed methods study including ‘mystery client’ visits to health care facilites and key informant interviews with health care providers to assess experience of patients and providers within the health care facility setting.

Note – Interested vendors must send a letter of interest with their qualifications to LiberiaProcurement@americares.org by December 17, 2020. To be eligible to submit a proposal for any of the studies listed above, vendors must demonstrate proven experience: 1) Conducting research funded by an international donor such as USAID, the UN, World Bank, etc.; 2) Successfully submitting IRB approval packages; and 3) Must provide three letters of reference from prior clients attesting to the organization’s ability to deliver quality quantitative and/or qualitative studies on time and on budget. Each vendor must indicate which of the three studies they are interested to bid on (bidders can submit proposals for all three studies).

Qualified bidders will receive the Request for Proposals (RFP) within two weeks of submission of letters of interest if they are deemed qualified. A proposal due date will be included with the RFP. The start date of the contract is to be determined but estimated between April-June.
