CONSULTANT WITH EXPERIENCE ON CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT FOR FORMER AND INFORMER TRAINING.

NIMD works to promote peaceful, just, and inclusive democracy worldwide. To that end, we work with the entire political sector in a country, from aspiring politicians to political leaders, and from the national to the local level. Together with our network, we promote dialogue, we strengthen the capacities of political actors, and we train young and established leaders in our Democracy Schools. Currently, NIMD runs programmes in around twenty countries in Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the MENA region.

NIMD in Liberia is looking for a:

CONSULTANT WITH EXPERIENCE ON DEVELOPING A CURRICULUM ON GOVERNANCE AND DEMOCRACY

The consultant will be assigned with the programme team of NIMD in the design and development of a curriculum that NIMD can use to conduct its democracy school for women in politics. The individual must demonstrate knowledge and experience in the use of pedagogic of experiential learning of adults.

This consultancy is a part of the Liberia Electoral Support Project (LESP), jointly funded by the EU and the governments of Sweden and Ireland and managed by UNDP-Liberia and implemented by UN Women and NIMD.

OBJECTIVES:

The specific objectives of this consultancy are:

• To design modules that will set the framework for the development of the curriculum.
• To develop learning objectives per module and appropriate steps to follow in the
• achievement of those objectives.

TASKS:

The consultant is expected to perform the following tasks:

• Review the report on women’s issues-based trajectory conducted by NIMD that targeted all 15 counties in Liberia.
• Develop methodology for the conduct of the training that highlights a participatory approach.
• Develop background information to be used to formulate each module of the curriculum.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

• The applicant must have at least a bachelor degree in political science, Social Science, Sociology, law, Development Studies or other related degrees linked to the objectives of the consultancy.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

The applicant must demonstrate experience and competencies in:

• Governance and democratic issues that affect women’s political participation.
• The application of participatory training tools and techniques in the conduct of training adults.
• Developing pre and post test questions to measure learning.

DURATION:

The consultancy will run for a total of ten days, including 3 days of preparatory work, 7 days to compile the curriculum.
