MISSION/CORE PURPOSE

  • Provide commercial support and assistance to MTN Liberia CEO
  • Interacts with Group, CEO Direct reports, Board Members and staff; working behind the scenes to provide the necessary information on requests, solve problems, mediate disputes, and deal with issues as they unfold
  • Exercise a high-level of judgement, work independently, in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, managing conflicts, politics, personalities and other issues.
  • Draws from experience to perform advance support and maintain a high-level of confidentiality.
  • Manage the process for all governance meetings, including communicating decisions and agreed actions and follow-up in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the business units, providing governance and co-ordination of country-wide activities including critical business issues as appropriate
  • Report, analyse and oversee preparation of Board and Management documents
  • Responsible for source information and compilation of reports and presentations, as required

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

CEO SUPPORT

  • Work with the CEO to prioritize an agenda and focus on the most important issues and opportunities.
  • Strategically manage the CEO’s time and calendar by exercising discretion and decision-making
  • Sort and filter requests and correspondences for the CEO’s time while ensuring strategic priorities are met in a timely manner.
  • Keep the CEO on schedule by providing regular updates and prompts.
  • Respond to routine questions and requests and refer higher level managerial requests to the Executives and/or directors, as appropriate.
  • Prepare CEO reports, e.g., Weekly management team update
  • Provide key board level reports for CEO where required and prepare meeting packs and follow-up governance, e.g. Operational (OPS) reviews/ budget reviews/ REMCO /off-sites
  • Manage review of packs and address management needs
  • Oversee, coordinate, assist with such routine administrative duties such as, receiving telephone calls and correspondence (including emails) and flagging them as appropriate.
  • Coordinate the CEO travel program and itineraries, prepare expense reports, composing non-routine and routine correspondence,
  • Compile and organize data for special reports and send correspondence on behalf of the CEO using the CEO’s “voice.”
  • Attend key meetings with the CEO with the purpose of ensuring follow-up and execution on identified next steps.

GOVERNANCE

  • Ensure CEO’s calendar addresses business priorities by ensuring that gaps and clashes are foreseen and rectified.
  • Plan meetings/events in conjunction with CEO and CEO direct reports
  • Fully provide secretariat–operational reviews, management meetings and regional reviews, including preparation of agendas and meeting materials, production of minutes, preparation of governance schedule, providing advice and guidance to presenters and effective communication between all other departments.
  • Communicate with relevant functions in the Region
  • Build and develop best practice governance across the business and provide key knowledge regarding Lonestar Cell MTN KPI’s and governance.

LEADERSHIP & TEAMWORK

  • Manage, facilitate and provide structure to governance and management meetings
  • Develop wider key team relationships with the CEO Direct Reports and Regional Management team to ensure effective implementation of plans for Lonestar Cell MTN.

SUPPORT COMMUNICATIONS

  1. Work with the internal communications team to assist with the:
  2. Preparation of key events for Lonestar Cell MTN and where the CEO is involved, as required
  3. Production of high-quality communications that is accurate, timely and effective.

AD-HOC PROJECTS

  • Undertake ad-hoc projects or tasks as requested by the CEO
  • Own, analyse and make recommendations on projects

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ Business Management experience (with a proven track record and attention to detail) in relevant industries
