JOB DESCRIPTION

 

COUNTRY CHIEF EXECUTIVE BUREAU VERITAS LIBERIA

 

MISSIONS

 

  • Responsible for all Bureau Veritas activities in the country,
  • To increase the company’s sales and profitability by establishing a development strategy and a sales action plan,
  • Ensure the implementation of services in accordance with the client’s requirements and needs while respecting the requirements and rules applicable at Bureau Veritas Group,
  • To organize and manage the operational processes of the services offered, to manage human and financial resources in accordance with the standards in force.
  • To ensure the quality of services and customer satisfaction.
  • To ensure that the Group’s Absolutes are respected and applied (Safety, Internal control, Compliance)

 

ACTIVITES and RESPONSABILITIES

 

  • – Defines objectives

– Validates the objectives of the various divisions and departments within the structure, taking into account the overall objectives of the Africa region.

– Define the objectives and action plans with his/her direct collaborators.

 

  • – Contributes to the development of the business

– Is the main contact and designated manager for certain national or global customers,

– Establishes sales action plans and monitors their implementation,

– Organizes and conducts sales meetings,

 

3 – Responsible for the financial performance of the subsidiary

– Defines the country budget with the help of the financial manager

– Responsible for the profitability of the business and the management of the cash flow

– Optimizes the organization by ensuring the right human dimensioning of services and equipment and by proposing projects to improve its functioning,

 

4 – Reports and comments on the activity of the structure

– Prepares and presents the results of the entity managed (Finance, Sales, Safety, Compliance, Ethics, QHSE, TQR) and proposes ad hoc action plans.

 

5 – Ensures the HR policy and processes

– Defines and participates in the recruitment policy of his/her structure, detects talent, ensures the right level of training for his/her team in liaison with the HR Manager of his/her area,

– Develops communication with his/her direct collaborators, informs them of the company’s orientations,

– Ensures the implementation of and compliance with current regulations and internal QHSE procedures

– Controls the remuneration policy of his structure,

– Exercises authority within the structure,

6 – Promotes and manages cross-functional actions

– Supports the commercial, production and reflection actions of the Africa region or the Company group that concern him/her

– Is in contact with the Global Services Lines and is involved in workshops that help develop products.

– Leads the production of his/her own assignments, in compliance with the quality system

 

7 – Ensures the management of O&G projects in Liberia.

 

8 – Contributes to the sharing of know-how

– Identifies, brings up and shares Best Practices and/or “new needs” detected in the country with the management of the Africa region.

– Promotes the capitalization and sharing of knowledge (Knowledge Management) among all the employees of the agency.

 

9 – Represents the company externally

– Participates in meetings with Authorities, customers and business partners,

– Participates in events to promote the company through its societal and talent attraction policy.

 

PROFIL & SKILLS REQUIRED

 

– Proven skills in operational management, personnel management, commercial management

– Ability to manage a P&L

– Leadership and entrepreneurial skills

– Sense of analysis and anticipation

– Resistance to stress

– Knowledge of QHSE standards

– Good command on English. Knowledge of French would be an advantage

– Operations within Government Inspection Service, Industries, and facilities activities,

– The physical and chemical characteristics of Material and Mines Trade products,

– Health, safety, and environmental risks related to these activities,

AUTHORITY & INTERNAL RELATIONS

 

– Have authority over all activities, missions and actions of Government Inspection Service with Authorities, customers, and business partners and over the staff assigned to these activities.

 

– Work in close collaboration with:

  • Regional Director Western Africa to whom he/she reports directly,
  • Customers and Business partners Director
  • The Entity Group support services managers (HR, Finance, Legal, HSE, TQR….).
