Background on KEEP: KEEP is a local Non-profit Organization that works at the grassroots level in 3 counties in Liberia (Grand Gedeh, Gbarpolu & Montserrado) and focuses on providing various support in the education sector, particularly at the primary school level. KEEP also engages in women & girls’ empowerment, economic livelihood, access to justice, promotion of rights in schools, strengthening youth education through computer and reading literacy programmes, child sponsorship and advocacy.
Job Summary:
The County Coordinator is responsible for ensuring relations with communities of operation is cordial and provides support in all community work by coordinating and disseminating information; organizing community information sessions; working with community leaders on issues regarding projects being implemented by KEEP.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as direct focal point for all activities in our area of operations in the County.
- Provides monthly and special reports on field activities for submission to Programs Coordinator as and when needed, attend various weekly and monthly county coordination meetings and provide written reports.
- Ensure projects being implemented by KEEP in the county are properly monitored, ensuring timelines are observed.
- Lead on the implementation of a community outreach strategy. Maintain files, logs and other documents in a neat and organized manner
- Coordinate community awareness and information sessions, including securing space, maintaining attendee list and preparing materials
- Participates in and conduct trainings at community level.
- Ensure implementation is in compliance with KEEP’s established policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duty as may be required.
Requirements
- At least 1 year previous field experience with a non-profit organization, ideally in a similar role.
- Must know how to ride a motorbike or be willing to learn if currently unable to.
- Minimum of AA Degree in Education, Social Work Management is required.
- Must be computer literate and proficient working in MS Word and know how to attached files send emails.
- Community engagement experience is desired.
- Good communication skills. Both written and spoken.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English (written & spoken).
- Ability to multitask and deal with stressful situations and problem solve.
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment and a team setting.
- Available to work at flexible schedule that includes evenings and sometimes weekends.
