County Field Officer

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) began working in Liberia in 1957, with a permanent Country Program Office opening in 1990, supporting relief and development operations in the country. CRS Liberia has proudly maintained a strong reputation and relationship with partners and the communities we serve in the country by implementing a multi-sector program portfolio. CRS’ relief and development work is accomplished through programs of emergency response, health, agriculture, education, livelihoods, peacebuilding, and WASH.
Job Summary:
CRS Liberia has been selected as Principal Recipient (PR) for the 2024-2027 Malaria grant financed by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. The program will be implemented nationwide in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other key stakeholders, with the goal of reducing the malaria burden by 75% by the end of 2025, compared to the 2016 malaria prevalence. Key activities include those related to vector control, malaria case management, specific prevention interventions including social behaviour change communication, community systems strengthening, and monitoring and evaluation.
You will assist Global Fund malaria case management, vector control, SPI, and RSSH activities by working directly with Ministry of Health County Health Teams, health facilities and community members, coordinating various project activities and events in support of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) work to serve the poor and vulnerable. Your service and community relations skills ensure that the local partners and communities feed into and benefit from the project that consistently applies best practices and continuously works towards improving its impact. Your coordination and monitoring of Global Fund’s planned activities will ensure compliance and timely reporting of program outcomes.

Travel – Field Officer may be covering at least two counties with frequent travel required. Officers will be provided with a motorbike for transportation; training will be provided if needed.

Key Working Relationships:
Internal: GF Malaria Project staff (Chief of Party I, DCOP, Technical Advisor II – MEAL, Malaria Technical Advisor, MEAL, ICT4D, Procurement and Supply Chain, and Finance teams).
External: Local MoH including County Health Teams and health facility staff, other GF Principal Recipients for the HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis grants, and health consortia.
