CONTRACTOR VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: Data Analyst Partner Liaison

OPEN TO: Liberian with preferably master’s degree in computer science, Statistics or Epidemiology or Public Health with extensive training in statistics.

EXPERIENCE: – Desirable working experience with MSF or other NGOs.

– At least 2 years of experience in Data Management in African contexts.

– Experience in computer systems administration including a very good experience in using the REDCap database management software.

– Previous experience in Lassa Fever research will be an asset.

CLOSING DATE: August 25th, 2024

LOCATION: Based at UNC Phebe Hospital Site, Bong County.

WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

DURATION: 9 months contract renewable based on projects and fundings

SALARY: 550 USD per month with private health insurance and phone credit.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The University of North Carolina (UNC) with its partners in Liberia are collaborating to conduct multiple studies. The studies focus but is not limited on Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers, like Lassa fever and Ebola. These studies examine the incidence, prevalence, and clinical features of various fever-causing pathogens and clinical disease.

The Data Analyst Partner Liaison will work in close collaboration with PHQ (Program HQ) of the Enable study in defining, coordinating and monitoring all data related activities including data collection, analysis, reporting, query resolution, monitoring and evaluation processes according to protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure quality data collection.

Under direct supervision and management of the UNC Data Coordinator, the POSITION will:

· Participate in designing, reviewing and adapting data management (DM) tools according to the ENABLE study (https://shorturl.at/htDW7) protocol, and ensure that all the deployed DM tools at the site are up-to-date.

· Providing technical support to the field workers in the implementation of routine data collection at the Phebe Hospital study site and ensure strict adherence to the study Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and participant follow-up schedules. Support the site field team in the identification and resolution of challenges encountered during data collection.

· Developing and implementing data quality assurance methods to ensure accuracy and reliability of the information, respect and confidentiality all participant information and good clinical practice.

· Working alongside the field team for quality assurance including identification of training needs and providing coaching and capacity building for the staff on issues related to data. Also, monitoring the fieldworker activities by conducting data quality checks of study participants.

· On a weekly, monthly basis or upon request, prepare data reviews or/and field visit reports about the implementation of the study.

· Performing additional activities whenever needed and as requested by the supervisor.
