Call for Data Collectors
Health Education Network Liberia, Inc. Was founded in 2018 as local NGO to innovatively implement school health programs through the formation of SHACs (Sanitation and Hygiene Advocacy Clubs), and the teaching of Life Skills away from traditional school health clubs which are largely dormant in Liberia. We are the only NGO in Liberia to do so. The advocacy aspect helps to channel resources and knowledge directly to the students and enables them see a healthy school environment as a human right rather than an entitlement for a few. HEN-L, INC., through its self-motivated team, conducted a WASH situation analysis in 14 of Liberia’s 15 counties and is currently managing Sanitation and Hygiene Advocacy Clubs in Montserrado and Bomi Counties. HEN-L is seeking data collector for its upcoming Trauma-Responsive Practice in Education (TRPE) Project.
Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate data collectors to support a crucial research initiative focused on understanding the impact of trauma on students in Liberian schools and how it’s affecting their academic performance. This research aims to gather valuable insights that will inform trauma-responsive practices in education and promote the well-being of students.
Position: Data Collector (5 positions)
Location: Various schools across Liberia
Duration: one month
Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
– A completion of high of school is required. Additional training in education, social work, psychology is an advantage.
– Experience in conducting surveys, interviews, or data collection in educational settings is preferred.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to connect with students in a sensitive and empathetic manner highly desirable. – Respect for ethical principles, including informed consent and privacy protection. – Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of local Liberian Vernaculars may be an advantage.

Selection Process:
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview and may be required to complete a written assessment to demonstrate their data collection skills. Successful candidates will receive training and support throughout the data collection process.
Note: This is a temporary position, and data collectors will be compensated for their time and efforts as per the project’s guidelines.
