ABOUT STREET CHILD OF LIBERIA
Street Child of Liberia (SCOL) was registered as a Liberian NGO in 2013 and works in
partnership with UK registered charity, Street Child UK and Sierra Leone partner
organisation, Street Child of Sierra Leone (SCoSL). Together the Street Child Group has
been working to give out of school children the opportunity to gain an education since 2008.
Street Child of Liberia is a leading national NGO undergoing significant expansion.
Currently we have 50 Liberian staff, with primary operations in Monrovia and field stations
in Maryland, Margibi, Grand Cape Mount, Lofa & Maryland, with further plans to expand
nationwide. To date, we have received funding from DfID, Comic Relief, the Liberian
government’s flagship Partnership Schools for Liberia program, Geneva Global and several
other private and national funders.
Data Officer
The Data Officer will be responsible for collection of data from specified Schools within the
LEAP program. He/She will work closely with Teachers, Principals and the Community, to
support the Street Child Education Team with improving student learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Job role includes but is not limited to the following areas:
Visiting at least 1 school per day to ensure accurate data collection, input, analysis
and usage of data
Support schools to collect, analyse and use data to help improve students’ learning
outcomes
Provide the education and M&E team with weekly report on the data collected
Compile marking period report every six weeks
Provide feedback to Principals on marking period report to improve system
Assist in coordinating academic assessments
Collaborate closely with the Learning Support Officers to help support schools and
teachers
Flag low attendance among both students and teachers
Track TARL model implementation data
Qualifications and Experience:
BSc. (or equivalent) in Information Technology, engineering, data or computer
science, or related discipline Certification as either Microsoft (MS) in software or
database development, Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS) in software
or database development, Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD),
Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), or Microsoft Certified Professional
Developer (MCPD);
High-level proficiency in Developing & Managing Data;
Experience using Cloud technology;
Experience with Windows services, web technologies, web services, Net
Frameworks;
Experience using configuration/change management (version control) software
tools;
Ability to converse in and comprehend Liberian and Standard English and write in
professional English;
Must have at least 3 years’ experience in similar field;
Analytical problem-solving ability, self-direction, experience in cloud technology;
Experience working with INGO/NGO or reputable institutions in Liberia;
Experience using monitoring internet equipment;
Experience in setting up internet services at reputable institutions;
Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and to plan, co-ordinate, and monitor
his/her own work plan; and
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and to make appropriate links in work
processes and anticipate next steps.
