Summary of Position
The Database Manager (Clinical Data Analyst) will perform specialized data management duties such as the development of statistical reports, design of case report forms, and assist in the support of the laboratory information systems.
Description of Responsibilities
 Assists in the conduct of double data entry and validation exercises to ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of data entered.
 Assists in identifying troubleshooting from the computerized database and take appropriate action in discussion with your line manager.
 In collaboration with the Quality Control team, resolves all data queries generated from the data management system.
 Assists in the training of study staff on the new PREVAIL protocol with emphasis on data management including the CRF, and quality control/assurance measures.
 Ensures. the quality and integrity of research data by conducting data cleaning and assisting in the development of validation procedures for PREVAIL studies.
 Assists in the conduct of meetings with other PREVAIL working groups or relevant personnel.
 Supports the development of case report forms for PREVAIL studies where applicable.
 Provides data management support to PREVAIL staff involved in the collection, and quality control/quality assurance of research data.
 Assists in communicating and training basic statistical concepts to other non-data management staff within PREVAIL.
 Assists in the development of study protocols and review, providing particular support in the methodology including sample size calculation.
 Performs statistical analysis using advanced techniques to address research questions and for regulatory submission or study sponsors.
 Enforce data security protocols to protect sensitive patient information and maintain compliance with privacy regulations.
 Assist with backup (LIS backend, SharePoint, Freezerworks, scheduling tools etc) of PREVAIL critical systems and implement disaster recovery plans.
 Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data management and other related areas of PREVAIL studies.
 If necessary and needed, enter research data accurately and efficiently into electronic databases or data management systems.
 Assist in generating reports for regulatory submissions or other operational purposes.
 Ensuring that appropriate security measures are taken to prevent unauthorized access to PREVAIL database.
 Identifying troubleshooting from the computerized database and take appropriate action in discussion with your line manager.
 Provide technical support to clinical staff during data collection.
 Ensure backup of all electronic data where applicable in accordance with the guidelines and regulations for data management.
 Assist in the management of PREVAIL SharePoint.
 Assist on issues LIS-related issues that require immediate attention.
 Assist in troubleshoots LIS and provide a solution in case of problem and document all issues and solutions.
 Assists in conducting end-user training on LIS system usage and document best practices.
 Assist in ensuring data are backup according to data management procedures.
 Any other relevant duties as directed and in line with your supervisor.
Skills
 Strong knowledge of statistical methodologies, clinical trial design, and regulatory requirement (e.g., ICH-GCP).
 Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
 Good experience of using MS office and database management applications.
 Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS Stata, python).
 Effective communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
 Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and meet tight deadline.
Qualifications
 Education: Bachelor of Science degree or higher in any of the following: Statistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, Health Informatics, or Data Science, Computer Science
 Proficient in database management systems including the following; in any of the following: R, Python, SAS, C++, Scala, MatLab, PLUS relational and non-relational database SQL, Oracle
 Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices (eg. GCP, GDMP, HIPAA)
 Preferred Job-related Experience: At least three (4) years of relevant experience in clinical data management.
 Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Minimum of five (3) years’ experience managing staff in multiple levels of an organization, both management and individual contributor level staff.
