Job purpose

The overall responsibility Distribution Officer is to assist warehouse manager in ensuring that deliveries are carried out in a transparent manner and that all deliveries both food and Non-Food items are loaded and unloaded on delivery trucks and escorted to final destination of end user. Furthermore, the distribution officer will at all time participate in unskilled work in warehouse and surrounding to ensure a complete cleanliness.

Responsibilities and duties

  • The distribution of rice, peas/beans, oil, salt, and soap to schools in urban and rural destinations;
  • Distribution of cooking material, plastic ware, and eating utensils; Loading and unloading of distribution vehicles;
  • Unloading of International Freight Containers as they arrive at the warehouse at a pre-determined time;
  • Safe Stacking of all materials/stock in the warehouse according to standard MM Logistics Systems;
  • Ensure the safe receipt, storage, picking, and packing of all incoming goods to the Mary’s Meals warehouse;
  • Ensure that all Logistics Paperwork (MM’s standard documentation) is completed for all Logistics Operations, more specifically the deliveries that the Distribution Officer is carrying out e.g. the responsible person for receiving the goods must always sign the Delivery Docket (DD) and the documentation must be given to the Warehouse Manager for filing;
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager on all paperwork such as filing of stock cards, delivery dockets, internal Requisition Forms and other documents which will be made available in operations as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Required to assist in stock taking exercise that no a weekly or monthly basis;

2 years’ work experience in similar field of activity
Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
