TITLE: DRIVER
DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS.
REPORTS TO: Finance and Operations Assistant.
ASSIGNMENT TYPE: Full -Time.
LOCATION: Monrovia, Liberia, with frequent travels
LENGTH: 12-months with possibility to extend based on performance and budget.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Americares is looking for a Driver to support the local travel needs for program implementation. Drivers may be scheduled in on-site shifts, advanced date and times, or on-call shifts depending on the demand for travel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as primary driver to pick up, drop off, and transport Americares staff throughout projects sites
Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services by driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents, and other related goods and supplies in/out of Montserrado County under the authorization of the supervisor
Keep up to date on the best routes, potential roadblocks, and traffic
Follow local driving law and apply additional caution to ensure the safety of yourself, Americares staff, and other drivers on the road
Prepare appropriate reports, such as fuel reports, logbooks, and other related documentation.
Assist with loading and unloading of materials in the vehicle and keep vehicle locked at all times
Keep an accurate schedule of driving assignments and arrive on time for pickups and drop offs
If an accident or other incident occurs, follow Americares safety protocol and insurance policies and procedures
Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.
Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
Ensures that all immediate actions required by Liberia driving rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.
Assist with any other operational support tasks such as turning on/off generator and public electricity (LEC) power
Support with other operational/administrative duties as assigned by supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic computer proficiency
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
At least 5 years of experience driving in and throughout Liberia
Experience driving manual, large sports utility vehicles or similar
Ability to adapt to last minute scheduling changes, roadblocks, and changing needs throughout the shift
Demonstrated excellent knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs
Demonstrated excellent knowledge of protocol
Demonstrated excellent knowledge of security issues
Being able to consistently approach work with energy and a positive construction attitude.
Capacity to remain calm, in control and good humored even under pressure.
Ability to respond positively to critical feedback and differing points of views.
