European Union Funded Project – Cocoa Value Chain Development Programme
(COVADEP)
Programme Background
Solidaridad Network West Africa (SWA) with its vast experience in developing sustainable supply chains
for different commodities (including cocoa in West Africa) has signed a new grant contract with the
European Commission-Delegation of the European Union to Liberia to implement the Cocoa Value Chain
Development Programme (COVADEP) in support of the development of the cocoa sector in Liberia.
The programme will be implemented in five counties in Liberia – Lofa, Nimba, Bong, Grand Gedeh and
River Gee, focusing on increasing productivity, value addition, marketing and facilitating improved sector
governance. The overall objective of the programme is to reduce poverty through increased
resilience/competitiveness of the Liberia cocoa sector and improve cocoa farmers’ livelihoods/food
security.
Solidaridad West Africa, Liberia in partnership with the European Union (EU), as the implementer of the
COVADEP project in Liberia seeks to recruit resourceful and self-motivated individuals for the following
positions:

Drivers (2 positions)
Location – Grand Gedeh and River Gee
The Driver will be responsible to drive office vehicles safely and chauffeur office staff and official visitors
to official destinations, provide support to program staffs on the field and run errands for the office.
He/she will ensure the effective and efficient facilitation of staff and project travels in full compliance with
administrative procedures and requirements procedures of vehicle operations for Solidaridad and
the European Union.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Minimum 3 years of experience as a company driver, driving 4×4 and SUV vehicles
 Minimum High School certificate
 Maintains a professional appearance
 Keeps safety and excellence at the forefront of everything
 Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
 Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
 Familiarity with GPS devices
 Ability to read and write
