Job Title: ECHO County Health Officer (x4)
Location: Grand Bassa, Rivercess, Sinoe and Grand Geddeh
Reporting To: ECHO Project Coordinator
Responsible For: nil
Duration: 12months
Job Purpose: This is a field-based position that requires collaborating and working very closely with communities, local Health facilities, Community Health Volunteers, Community Health Assistants and other community based health workers, community formal and informal structures, government authorities, private sector and local NGO partners where applicable. Overall, the staff will be responsible to roll out plans to vaccinate all Health Care Workers across Grand Bassa, Rivercess, Grand Geddeh and Sinoe Counties. The Concern County Health Officers will be responsible for coordinating all logistical support to the County and District Health Teams including supporting accountability of the project through collection and submission of regular monitoring data including; Fuel log sheets, Vaccination registers readiness checklist and field monitoring reports in line with the national HMIS and DHMIS.
Responsibilities: Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with County and District Health Team, particularly the EPI sector supervisors through active networking, advocacy and capacity development, exchange knowledge/expertise and/or promote cooperation to roll out the COVID 19 vaccination at health facilities and within communities; coordination at the county and district level and other stakeholders to engage in the roll out plan; Improve Covid-19 vaccination roll out and support the development of effective strategies to achieve intended programme results; support the County and District Health Teams in planning, management and implementation of the vaccination programme; provide ongoing technical advice and mentorship on implementation of the vaccination roll out at facility level ; ensure adherence to the County and District level monitoring plan and timeline; conduct regular field visits to the targeted health facilities in the respective districts to monitor vaccination activities.
Experience & Qualification:
∙ Physician Assistant /Professional Nurse/Certified Midwives with at least 3 years’ experience in EPI and vaccination outreach. ∙ Experience in planning and management of vaccination programmes in Liberia.
∙ High level of English (spoken and written)
∙ Ability to work and travel in remote areas as the nature of the job requires frequent travelling on difficult terrain especially during the rainy months necessitating overnight stay in ‘hard to reach’ rural communities in the county
High degree of motivation and flexibility
