Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

Within the framework of the plant’s objectives assigned by the maintenance manager, his / her missions are to ensure the quality of the electrical operations; ensure the practical application of the electrical operations; manage and motivate his/her team; ensure coordination and cooperation between his/hers and other departments.

Performance criteria

• Assures the quality of the electrical operations
• Makes sure that maintenance works are carried out satisfactorily and within the set timeframe
• Ensures that adequate action is taken when electrical incidents occur
• Guarantees the safety of the equipment and of the people working for him
• Optimizes maintenance costs and manages the budget
• Promotes the quality of the work and motivates personnel
• Develops their skills by internal and external training to keep abreast of technical developments

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the execution of maintenance work carried out on electrical equipment
• Develops working methods in his/her field: defines procedures and ensures that they are implemented
• Ensures proper scheduling, planning of works and resources and execution
• Contributes to/participates in the 3-year investment plan
• Manages his team: defines the missions and objectives of his workforce and carries out their performance reviews, promotes the quality of the work and motivates his personnel
• Ensures the permanent update of the personnel skills, develops and implements a training plan, develops an individual coaching
• Defines the budget of his /her department and negotiates with the management
• Facilitates communications and relationships :
• Conducts department meetings regularly,
• Conveys management policies to the subordinates,
• Communicates results to the top management,
• Keeps himself informed of general plant practices so as to ensure “on-call” duty
• Ensures safe working conditions and safety rules

REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION

Educational background

Prospective or recent graduates with Degree in Electrical Engineering

Technical skills

Good knowledge of products and of operational processes; some knowledge of practical electrical operations; strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills; knowledge of safety laws and regulations; experience in the development of quality management methods, for example ISO 9000 and TPM, desirable; some experience.

Personal skills

Team leadership; Sense of organisation / Delegation; Development of others; Decision-making capacity / Self-confidence; Anticipation / Initiative; Results orientation; Excellent communication skills; Ability to work in diverse work environment.
