  1. ENGINEER, ENTERPRISE APPLICATION

Job Summary

  • Responsible for the administration, operations and maintenance, implementation, upgrade requirements and vendor management of Enterprise Applications and systems
  • Process optimisation and documentation is one of the major focus for this role.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operation, Maintenance and Support of all applications related to Retail and Wholesale Billing (Postpaid Platforms) and other Enterprise applications
  • Assesses user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analysis of opportunities in order to take advantage of available tools
  • Acts as a focal point for communicating related system problems within the department and collaborates with other teams and vendors on changes, fixes, and updates
  • Incident resolution, problem management and enhancement tickets raised by the end users for assigned applications
  • Develops relevant metrics, measures and publishes the performance of the services provided and enables continuous improvement activities in collaboration with peer groups
  • Works closely with all other IT management personnel in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specific information technologies that support the business plans and IT strategies
  • Maintains a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objectives
  • Serves as an internal consultant on enterprise applications
  • Provides ongoing troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of applications, including 24/7 on call coverage as required
  • Integrate new products and services within the environment and ensure high quality end to end services are delivered to customers
  • Continue to expand the capacity of the system to keep up with rapid growth
  • Report regularly on system and service performance against key quality and availability targets
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 3+ years’ professional experience
  • Certification preferred

Experience

  • Experience in a variety of data integration technologies – ETL, flat files, XML, SOAP, etc
  • Experience in support of real time systems and large-scale solutions
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining Enterprise platforms
  • Unix/Linux/Solaris system administration skills
  • Operations Processes & Interfaces (Incident, Request, Event, Problem, Change Management, Reporting)
  • Experience in support and Backoffice applications
  • Familiarisation with SS7, GSM and UMTS networks
