Via River Mining Company (VRMC) is a Turkish Liberian Corporation established under the laws of Liberia to carry out Gold Mining activities in Lofa County, as authorized by the Government of Liberia, under License issued by the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

VRMC is recruiting for the following positions for which detail job specifications are attached for candidates’ perusal:

Excavator Operator – Job Profile

Location: Field Locations, Lofa County, Republic of Liberia

Reports To: Mining Engineer

Contract Type: Fixed Term

1. Job Summary:

Via River Mining Company (VRMC) Incorporated, a private business corporation established under the laws of Liberia to acquire applicable license and undertake gold mining & related activities in Lofa County as authorized by the Government of Liberia. This role provides excavator operator services to VRMC mining operations.

2. Summary of Job Description

Excavator operator drives and controls heavy machinery to dig, move, grade and load earth, rock, and debris for road construction and mining sites. The operator is also responsible for safely and efficiently operating excavator equipment to complete site preparation, trenching, foundations, and demolition work according to project plans and blueprints.

Specific duties include:

• Operate Machinery – Drive and control excavators and attachments (buckets, hydraulic breakers, augers, grapples) to dig trenches, move materials and level terrain.
• Site Preparation and Demolition – Clear lan, excavate foundations, dredge ditches, and break up concrete structures.
• Safety & Inspections – Perform daily pre-operation checks on tracks, bucket pins, fluids and hydraulics, and escalate mechanical issues.
• Utility Awareness – Identify underground utilities, overhead power lines, and ground stability risks before digging.
• Team Coordination – Communicate with site supervisors, signallers, and dump truck drivers via radio or hand signals.
• Preventive & Routine Maintenance – Manage an excavator preventive maintenance program; clean, lubricate, refuel, and perform minor adjustments to the machine.

3. Qualifications & Essential Requirements

• Relevant technical diploma in Excavator Operation from a recognized technical vocational institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable excavator operation in a construction site preferably in a mining operation.
• Experience with approximately 22–36 tonne excavators in mining, quarrying, earthworks or similar operations.
• Ability to perform daily inspections, safe loading, trenching, benching and operation in wet or unstable ground.
