The Executive Director is the key management leader of IREDD. The Executive Director is
responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization.
Other key duties include fundraising, marketing and community outreach. The position reports
directly to the Board of Advisors.
General Responsibilities
1). Board Governance: Works with the Board in order to accomplish the organization
mission
 Responsible for leading in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission
as may be advise by the Board of Advisors;
 Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and
accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to
make informed decision;
2). Financial Performance Viability: Develops Resources sufficient to ensure the financial
health of the organization
 Responsible for fundraising and developing other revenues necessary to support
IREDD’s programmatic vision;
 Responsible for the fiscal integrity of IREDD to include: submission to the Board of
proposed Annual Budget and monthly financial statements, which would reflect the
current financial condition of the organization;
 Responsible for the fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the
approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the
organization in a positive financial position;
3). Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with Board and Staff to ensure that the
organization’s mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community
outreach:
 Responsible for the implementation of IREDD’s programs that carry out the
organization’s mission;
 Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that IREDD can successfully fulfill its
organizational mission into the future;
 Responsible for the enhancement of IREDD’s image by being active and visible in the
community and by working closely with other professional civic and private
organizations;
4). Organization Operations: Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure
that the operations of the organization are appropriate;
 Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent and qualified staff;
 Responsible for the effective implementation of IREDD’s operation;
 Responsible for signing all notes, agreements and other instruments made and entered
into and on behalf of the organization;
Core Job Responsibilities
1. Report to and work closely with the Board of Advisors to seek their advice in policy
decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the organization;
2. Supervise and collaborate with the organization staffs;
3. Strategic planning and implementation;
4. Planning and operation of annual budget;
5. Serves as the organization’s primary spokesperson to its constituent, donors, partners and
the general public;
6. Establish and maintain relationship with partners, stakeholders and utilize to strategically
enhance IREDD’s mission;
7. Engage in fundraising and adopt innovative ventures to expand revenue generation
capacity to foster organizational sustainability;
8. Oversee marketing and other communication efforts including the use of ICT
technologies, social media and the establishment of a functioning website;
9. Oversee organizational Board and committees’ meetings;
10. In collaboration with the Board, establish employment and administrative policies and
procedures for all functions and the day-to-day operation of the organization;
11. Review and approve contracts for services. However, where necessary, consult with the
Board depending on the magnitude and sensitivity of the service;
12. Perform other duties as may be required by the Board of Advisors.
Professional qualification needed
 An advance degree in any of the social sciences or its equivalent in bachelor degree with
proven experience;
 Transparent and high integrity leadership
 Five or more years senior not-for-profit management experience;
 Experience and skills in working with a functional Board of Advisors with the
appropriate oversight mandates;
 High level strategic thinking and planning. Abilities to envision and convey the
organization’s strategic future to staff, Board, donors, stakeholders and volunteers
 Abilities to effectively communicate the organization’s mission donors, stakeholders and
the general community;
 Demonstrate ability to oversee, collaborate and provide mentorship to staffs;
 Ability and or history of successfully generating new revenue streams and keeping track
of financial management and reporting;
 Active fundraising experience combine with excellent donor relationship building skills
and understanding of the funding community;
 Previous success in establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals and
organizations of influence including funders, partner agencies and donors;
 Solid organizational abilities including collective planning, delegating responsibilities,
program development and task facilitation;
 Strong financial management skills including budget preparation, analysis, decision
making and reporting;
 Strong written and oral communication skills;
 Strong public speaking ability;
 Strong work ethics with a high degree of integrity
