Job description: [ROLE] 1

Job purpose

The Facilities Assistant will be responsible for ensuring proper and well compounds including its facilities, fittings, and fixtures. The Facilities Assistant will also ensure that the surroundings, grounds, and buildings of MML are kept and maintained in a safe and clean way all the time.

Key activities

1 Responsibilities and duties

  • Supervision of external contractors or retainers who carry out repairs and repairs work, oversee both janitorial and lawn maintenance services.
  • Supervise and monitor external repairs contractors; generator servicing, equipment repairs and buildings
  • Conduct and maintain building inventories, arrange, and rearrange both furniture that is in use and not in use.
  • Logging and reporting all technical faults relating on electrical, plumbing, building fixtures and fittings
  • Ensure all office equipment fixtures and fittings are in good working condition. Co-ordinating parking availability for vehicles and motor bikes, ensure security passes are completed in the logbooks by security for both visitors and staff. Carrying out risk assessments checks on the safety of compounds and surroundings.
  • Monitoring and maintaining stationary stock levels.
  • Sorting and distributing all incoming letters, tender submissions, and documents. Providing support at the security booth and reception when necessary. Refuelling of generators
  • Checking and recording of fuel collected from the stores for generators Pumping of water into the water tanks three times a day
  • Daily checking of the lighting system and light bulbs in the compound Ensuring that all the doors to the offices and (staff houses during holidays) and exit point are locked each night and have working locks.
  • Checking the perimeter fence to ensure it has no damages and report damages. Monitor external contractors; electrician, plumber, builders, and air conditioner as they do repairs in the compound and residential areas.

Qualifications, skills and experienceEssentialDesirable
Secondary school level diploma
2 years’ work experience in similar field of activity
Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
Strong organization skills
Good negotiation skills
Strong organization skills
Ability to interpret figures and spot trends
Flexible approach and the ability to make decisions quickly
Willingness to work long hours, holidays and weekends as required
