Job Title: Facility Management Assistant – (1X)

Location: Buchanan, Grand Bassa County

Reporting To: Human Resources & Administrative Officer

Responsible For: N/A

Contract duration: Fixed Term

Job Purpose: To support the HR/Admin Officer in the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the Office and International staff residence buildings and premises. This involves tactical facility management, safety management, and general upkeep of the office and international staff residence premises under the strategic guidance of the HR/Admin officer and Systems Coordinator

Main Responsibilities

To check all firefighting equipment, alarm system and emergency lighting; To direct persons and contractors to places where they are required and to monitor their work, taking due regard for quality service; To carry out regular visual inspections of the plumbing, electrical, and equipment located within the building and the grounds of the property; To carry out weekly visual inspections of fire routes and fire doors to ensure that they are unhindered. Problems must be reported to the HR/Admin Officer and sufficient action taken to resolve the problem to reduce the potential for danger; To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance works to ensure that continued problem free operation of equipment and facilities within the building. All defects should be reported to the HR/Admin Officer; To carry out Reactive basic Maintenance works (electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other works) within the FMA capability Electrical, plumbing, carpentry and as instructed by the HR/Admin Officer; To ensure that Housekeeping standards are maintained within the building and to carry out monthly removal of all unused materials. It is the responsibility of the Premises and Facilities Assistant to highlight to the Administrative Officer any areas where Housekeeping is of a poor standard; To carry out decoration works within the building to ensure the up keep of the building; To assist the HR/Administrative Officer in ensuring that the building is maintained in line with all Health and Safety guidelines and legislation; To ensure that all premises and facility maintenance service providers hired to carry out specialist tasks are working safely; To ensure that all defects are reported immediately to the Administrative Officer; To assist other members of the Premises and Facilities Team with requests, as required; Cleaning of the office and residence premises and maintaining the gardens in good condition; To ensure the disposal of garbage through garbage disposal service provider; To assist in arranging for the maintenance of furniture and fittings such as lights and to be carried out effectively and efficiently; Fueling

of generator at the Team House and Office when the need arises; General maintenance of the solar and inverter back up system in the offices and Team house

Experience & Qualification:

Relevant Trade qualification, health and safety certificate

General handyman skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, etc

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in reputable intuitions in at least two trades

Experience in basic health and safety management of facilities

Dedicated to gender equality
