ABOUT THE PROJECT
Restore Hope Liberia is implementing the FHI 360 EpiC Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Continuity of Care Project as a Civil Society Organization (CSO) subawardee under the USAID/PEPFAR-supported EpiC platform.
The project seeks to strengthen continuity of care across the maternal, newborn and child health continuum through improved pregnancy identification, referral completion, antenatal care continuity, facility delivery support, postpartum follow-up, newborn follow-up, PMTCT/EID continuity, immunization follow-up, maternal wellbeing support, and strengthened community-facility linkages.
Implementation in Bong County covers all assigned districts and health facilities and will be conducted in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Bong County Health Team, District Health Teams, Community Health Services Supervisors (CHSS), Community Health Assistants (CHAs), Trained Traditional Midwives (TTMs), health facilities, and community structures.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Coordinator – Bong County will serve as the primary county-level implementation lead responsible for coordinating, supervising, monitoring, and supporting all project activities throughout Bong County.
The position will provide operational leadership for county-level implementation and ensure effective collaboration with the Bong County Health Team, district health authorities, facility personnel, community structures, and project staff.
The Field Coordinator will play a central role in facility validation, microplanning, workforce deployment, supervision, referral system strengthening, documentation verification, and implementation quality assurance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- County Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary operational liaison with the Bong County Health Team.
• Support engagement with District Health Teams and facility leadership.
• Participate in county-level planning, coordination, and review meetings.
• Strengthen collaboration between community and facility stakeholders.
• Support county entry and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Facility Validation and Mapping
- Lead validation of assigned health facilities.
• Verify facility focal persons and service delivery points.
• Support mapping of referral pathways and service networks.
• Assist in facility readiness assessments and implementation planning.
- Microplanning and Deployment
- Coordinate district-level microplanning activities.
• Support workforce mapping and deployment planning.
• Assist in development of district implementation plans.
• Ensure implementation activities align with approved workplans.
- Supervision and Field Operations
- Supervise Maternal Wellbeing & Continuity Facilitators and District M&E Assistants.
• Conduct routine supportive supervision visits.
• Monitor implementation quality and performance.
• Verify activity implementation and service continuity interventions.
• Support timely resolution of operational challenges.
- Community Engagement and Referral Systems Strengthening
- Support engagement of CHAs, TTMs, CHSS, HFDCs, women’s groups, youth groups, and community leaders.
• Strengthen referral pathways between communities and facilities.
• Support implementation of community dialogue activities.
• Promote continuity of care and referral completion.
- Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting
- Review and verify activity reports and supporting documentation.
• Ensure timely submission of county-level implementation reports.
• Support data verification and quality assurance activities.
• Assist in collection of success stories, lessons learned, photographs, and implementation evidence.
• Ensure documentation is properly filed and archived.
- Risk Management and Quality Improvement
- Identify implementation risks and operational bottlenecks.
• Recommend corrective actions and improvement measures.
• Escalate significant issues to the Project Coordinator.
• Support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Community Health, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience implementing public health, community health, or development programs.
• Demonstrated experience working with County Health Teams, District Health Teams, and Ministry of Health structures.
• Experience supervising field teams and community-based personnel.
• Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout Bong County.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting MNCH, community health, health systems strengthening, mental health, or referral system interventions.
• Experience working on donor-funded programs.
• Experience facilitating community engagement and stakeholder coordination.
• Familiarity with Bong County health structures and communities.
