Innovations for Poverty Action Liberia seeks to hire highly motivated, qualified and experienced Field
Enumerators to work on several projects, including 1) a study on the effects of cash transfers and 2) a
long-term follow-up on the effects of providing therapy and cash to at-risk young men, among others.
The field enumerator is primarily responsible for collecting field data. They have direct contact with
respondents and have a great bearing on the quality of data collected and ultimately on the quality of data
output.
Core Responsibilities:
● Participate actively in training with IPA
● Travel to project communities and locate respondents who have been designated for surveys
● Conduct interviews with respondents while protecting the privacy of personal and confidential
information
● Record responses as instructed and with high accuracy
● Comply with the requirements necessary for conducting a successful interview
● Adhere to IPA Data Quality Protocols
● Adhere at all times to IPA best financial practices
● Adhere to Ministry of Health regulations and IPA COVID-19 protocols at all times
● Respect community norms, standards and values by being culturally sensitive
● Communicate issues in a timely and professional manner to supervisor
● Undertake other tasks as identified by the supervisor
Required Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
● Data collection experience on tablets/PDA using SurveyCTO/Kobo/ODK Collect (Quantitative and
Qualitative)
● Excellent communication and writing skills in English (ability to speak other local languages is a
plus but not required)
● Basic understanding of enumeration protocols using tablets
● Very flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a team player.
● Able to complete tasks on tight deadlines
● Willingness to travel to project communities in Monrovia and Paynesville, in Bong and Nimba
counties, and potentially around Liberia. (A primary or secondary residence in Bong County is a
plus for one of the projects, though not a requirement for consideration.)
● Experience working with vulnerable populations is a plus.
