ORGANIZATION PROFILE
Helping Our People Excel (HOPE) is a women-led, rights-based organization with the vision “To ensure the social, educational and economic empowerment of women and children in Liberia.” Their mission is to promote their social, economic and educational empowerment through personal development opportunities, building strong community partnerships, policy review and advocacy. HOPE emphasizes ownership and empowerment by bringing the beneficiaries and key institutions together to create solutions to social issues. HOPE works in two thematic areas: 1) Sexual and reproductive health and rights for women and girls and 2) Education and leadership development opportunities for children and youth.
JOB SUMMARY
The Field Officer is responsible for all project activities at the field level with support from the Program Management Team
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
➢ Interface with community and district day-to-day implementation and coordination of the HOPE program activities in district of responsibility
➢ Planning, coordinating and monitoring of the agricultural component of the Project ➢ Identify, develop and set up strategies together with team members and beneficiaries to improve production in terms of quality & sustainability, yield increase & diversification ➢ Coordinate with the agriculture teams in the counties to ensure proper implementation of activities
➢ Supervise distribution of inputs to beneficiaries according to the directives and plan, properly registered and accounted for in a transparent way
➢ Support mobilization and organization of communities in reviewing awareness using standard IEC materials provided.
➢ In collaboration with community, identify, establish, mobilize and train community members and conduct refresher trainings for them to enhance sustainability of activities. ➢ Monitoring and supporting the functioning of project community structures (Committees, Clubs, etc.) on implementation of developed action-plan and awareness activities in conjunction with the local authorities.
➢ Support any other field activities conducted directly by HOPE, or in collaboration with actors or partners working.

➢ Ensure all work done with communities is carried out in a manner that is respectful and sensitive to local culture, community needs and gender equality.
➢ Plan and implement coordination meetings with local community structures and relevant GoL agencies.
➢ Facilitate the dissemination of Behavior Change Communication (BCC) tools and contribute to outreach activities.
➢ Participate in data collection activities for program development and improvement ➢ Prepare and submit monthly work plan to supervisor for review, approval and execution of activities as indicated in the plan
➢ Perform extra other duties as the need arise
Qualifications:
➢ A Bachelor Degree in Agriculture or Agriculture in combination with a related field, or AA/Advanced Degree of an Agricultural School or equivalent in education and practical experience.
➢ Certificate and/or at least two years’ work experience at in related field work with governmental or non-Governmental organizations
Personal Skills:
➢ Overall program management including planning, coordinating, organizing, delegating, budgeting and report writing.
➢ Strong motivation, team player, ability to multi- task and excellent client service skill ➢ Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
➢ Ability to work in multi-culture and multi-disciplinary environment
➢ Exceptionally good at community mobilization and familiar with community entry strategies and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA)
➢ Excellent communication and use of various presentation skills
➢ Knowledge in basic computer programs: Ms. Word, Power point, Publisher, Excel and Web Research
➢ Strong understanding of participatory methodologies and trainings
➢ Have respect for humanitarian code of conduct and inter-agency working relationship ➢ Sensitive to gender issues
➢ Motorcycle riding skills in rural environment and understanding a basic maintenance, own a Valid Driver’s License
