The Planned Parenthood Association of Liberia (PPAL) is a voluntary, not for profit and equal opportunity organisation that undertakes advocacy and service delivery in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Liberia. PPAL is a Member Association (MA) of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). PPAL is seeking qualified persons for the following positions.
FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER (FAM)
a. Job purpose
The occupier will provide leadership and coordinate the provision of comprehensive top level management
support services including accounting, finance, supplies management and administration to facilitate effective
operations of the NGO in line with established policies; ensuring compliance with highest standards in
safeguarding organisational resources and assets maintaining sound financial health of the NGO.
b. Key Responsibilities
- Planning, organising, coordinating and controlling the management of financial and material resources in accordance with IPPF standards and laid down rules and procedures of PPAL as laid out in its financial management and accounting policies and procedures manual;
- Guiding the Association on the use and management of donor resources, ensuring compliance with
approved guidelines and standards, demonstrating prudence, transparency and accountability in
resource utilization and management; - Leading, directing and co-ordinating the department operations with respect to human resource
management and administration and supplies to facilitate smooth operations within PPAL including
providing logistics and management support to meetings, workshops, seminars conferences and other field
activities etc.; - Making input into new business ideas that increase income and ensures solvency and sustainability
including the operationalization of PPAL’s Social Enterprise Initiative for effective take off, management
and profitability;
c. Academic and other qualifications
Education: MBA/MSc/MA/in Finance, Accounting, Business Admin, Business Management, or
Bachelor with ACCA or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Work Experience: 8/10 years relevant professional experience in finance and general administration and management in a not for profit environment and or donor organization; with 6/8 of those years should be in senior
managerial/management position; - Demonstrate strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, with proven ability to work in a highly stressful environment
- Proven track records in demonstrating accountability to all stakeholders
- Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills;
- Computer Proficiency in MS word, PowerPoint, EXCEL, Access and other accounting software
such as QuickBooks, TOMPRO, SAGE SAARI, including being able to use computer to conduct
Desk researches - Extensive experience in all financial analysis, reporting and auditing coordination;
Mandatory:
- Strong technical and analytical skill with qualitative and quantitative aptitude, excellent numbering
and statistical skills, cost-consciousness and auditing skills - High experience and capacity in budgeting to support proposal development process,
- Excellent people management, interpersonal and communication (written and spoken) skills
- Must have positive attitude and disposition towards family planning especially as it relates to young
people - Sound knowledge of donor requirements in grant making and management
