Position: Finance Assistant(Street Child of Liberia Operations)
Organization: Street Child of Liberia (SCoL)
Reporting to: Head of Finance & Operations
Deadline: Rolling until 15 November 2019

Specific Task 1: Administrative Coordination
Ensures a sound and professional daily administrative management of SCoL projects; the
Finance Assistant specifically:
Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day administrative functions of the Catch up classes
programme in the Head Office to ensure integrity of operations and a safe working
environment within the project.
Work with Head Office staff in Monrovia to ensure compliance with Street Child of
Liberia administrative policies and procedures.
Manage all project assets and maintain an efficient and accurate asset inventory in
coordination with the Head Office.
He/she will support the project coordinator in tracking administrative documents coming
from the Country Director
Liaise with key staff and senior management team of SCoL to ensure compliance with
policies and procedures of Street Child of Liberia.
Ensure compliance with all donor requirements and regulations of the project.

Specific Task 2: Financial Management
Ensures a sound and professional daily financial management of SCoL projects, the Finance
Assistant:
Prepare all payment vouchers pertaining to the project.
Ensure the proper allocation of costs to appropriate budget line items in grants budget and
in accordance with Street Child account codes.
Arrange for payments of utilities and any other regular payments required to ensure
smooth functioning of the Project
Maintain complete and accurate financial records, including all supporting
documentation.
Ensure all supporting documentation is attached to the vouchers and that all costs
allocated to grants comply with donor regulations and Street Child of Liberia Policies.
Assist the Project Coordinator and Finance and Administrative Officer with budget
oversight for the project
Provide regular updates to Administrative and Finance Officer about financial issues in
the project.
Assist in cash projection needs for the project.
Prepare and submit monthly Financial Reports to the Country Office Finance and
Administrative Officer.
Perform other tasks as may be required by his/her supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENT
Title: Finance Assistant
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
At least Bachelor Degree in business management/Accounting or related field
Two years’ experience in Accounting
At least 3 years previous experience of NGO work
Good writing and reporting skills Computer literate-particularly in Microsoft Office,
Word, Excel and Access; knowledge of Quickbooks preferred
Responsible attitude and ability to manage the resources and mature understanding of the
nature of work
A high standard of numeracy & high level integrity
Ability to work under pressure and with competing demands
Good decision making, inter-personal, negotiating, organization and analytical skills
Excellent management skills including the capacity to prioritizes the work
Fluency in English, both verbal and written, preferred
Commitment to Street Child values
Proven ability to work with minimum supervision and to work in a team
Good knowledge of English & good communication skills
Ability to coordinate multi-task
Excellent inter-personal relationship
