• BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES

Sanctuary Care Liberia was established in 2025 as a medical facility devoted to changing the trajectory of quality healthcare access and delivery in Liberia. After decades of political instability have weakened Liberia’s healthcare system leaving many communities with limited access to basic medical care, we have intervened to provide free, quality healthcare to children aged 0-6 removing barriers to care and delivering services to a vulnerable target group.

Our care goes beyond medicine. It is about restoring trust, and renewing hope. Our team operates with a deep commitment to excellence, professionalism and dignity to remove barriers to care and to help set a new standard for accessible, compassionate healthcare in Liberia.

We are currently in the process of setting up our premises and building an exciting team of professionals to achieve our goals in Liberia.

To this end, we need to ensure that a proper accounting system is put in place and accurate accounting records are produced for reports to our stakeholders. We are seeking a Finance Director to

• Implement robust in-house financial management systems incorporating modern internal control systems
• Perform cash management functions and oversee accounts payable, receivable, cash disbursements, payroll and bank reconciliation functions.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and execute long-term financial strategies to support the facility’s growth and expansion.
2. Provide the Executive Director with accurate reports, review current financial management practises and institute, where necessary best financial management practices.
3. Lead the budgeting processes across all departments.
4. Implement and execute all technical and financial operations of the business;
5. Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements;
6. Ensure full compliance with regulatory and accounting standards;
7. Prepare the day-to-day financial operations reports within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions, etc
8. Prepare and analyse budget (forecasted vs actual) and provide a documented rationale for significant variances to the Executive Director.
9. Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and regulatory bodies.
10. Implement document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
11. Liaise with Executive Director to improve financial procedures and performance

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The preferred candidate must meet the following qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or healthcare administration.
2. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a senior financial management leadership role; experience within a hospital or healthcare setting would be a plus.
3. An ACCA or additional accounting certification would be an added benefit.
4. Proficiency in QuickBooks or other ERP systems.
