Job Title : FINANCE MANAGER-AIM PROJECT

Staff Category : International/ National

Tenure : 1 year

Reports to : County Director

Duty Station : Country Office/Monrovia

 

Safeguarding Job Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve BRAC’s goals on safeguarding.
  2. Act as a resource of support and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  3. Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  4. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage other to do so.

 

Job Summary

Provide support to the AIM project and strengthen reporting mechanism for all components including Agriculture, Youth Empowerment, Education, UPG and Humanitarian activities.

 

Key Duties

  • Assisting the Project Manager(s) and Program specialists with financial planning, monitoring activities, reviewing budgets and preparation of financial project reports ;

 

  • Prepare and submit regular financial reports as required by management and donor showing the financial positing/stability, value for money and compliance with donor requirements;

 

  • Preparation monthly Budget Variance Analysis (BVA) for sectors and overall project report for the management awareness on the burn rate and project progress;

 

  • Ensure effective implementation of the enterprises risk management policy as per organization risk framework and BRAC International guideline;

 

  • Review cash and Bank reconciliation prepared by finance officer of the AIM project on daily/monthly as required , including Cash requisitions and transfers from field officers (areas) to/from Country Office;

 

  • Observing compliance on salary processing statutory deductions such as NASSCORP contributions, Withholding tax to Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) etc ;

 

  • Supporting internal and external audit by accurately recording of transactions, preparing vouchers/bills, recording them timely and proper filing;


  • Determine gaps in the field team and design appropriate training to them and perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

  • Safeguarding Responsibilities

    • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
    • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
    • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do the same

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Respectful and honest. Accounting treatment related to grants and bank transactions;
  • Interpersonal communication skills and teamwork;
  • Good computer skills, preferably MS excel and MS words;
  • Professional competence with good knowledge on international transactions including management of donors and partners;
  • Knowledge on regulatory, contractual, legal and financial compliance requirements associated with international donor funding;
  • Ability to prepare bank reconciliation with minimum supervision and identify risk transactions and manage them;
  • Proficiency in working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)system for business transactions ,records and report preparation.

 

Experience Requirements:

  • BBA or equivalent in Finance/Accounting/ Business Management/Banking
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be an added advantage
  • 3-5 years’ experience.

 

  • Educational Requirements: BBA or equivalent in Finance
