A leading Oil and Gas Company in Liberia is recruiting for a highly qualified Finance Manager. The Finance Manager will report to the General Manager and lead a team of accountants and other finance and procurement Specialists.
Position Summary
The Finance Manager will be responsible to the General Manager and will be required to establish robust internationally compliant financial and administration systems. Responsibilities will broadly include financial management (budgeting, revenues management, expenditure control, reporting), general administration, strategic planning and performance management.
Responsibilities
Setup the financial and internal control systems adapted to the position and ensure their proper functioning.
Negotiate banking terms.
Supervise cash management and arbitration to reduce financial impacts.
Monitor tax litigation cases.
Participate in Credit Committee meetings: customer risks, compliance with DMAs payment deadlines, ratios.
Build budgets and monitor their implementation and coordinate the various headquarters reporting
Ensure contacts with the various Administrations and monitor the compensation file with the State
Administrator for IT applications including accounting system, Outlook, Internet and Intranet.
Ensure that the Company’s procurement procedure Is followed.
Participate in accounting closures and ensure that production deadlines are respected.
Order accounting adjustments and manage the monthly and annual closing of accounts.
Approve the reconciliation statements: bank, fixed assets, inventories.
Order and supervise contradictory quarterly inventories (inventories, cash)
Ensure that tax and social security deadlines are met.
Ensure the vertical and transverse versatility of the employees in the finance department.
Ensure the proper functioning and backup of the IT tools, applications used by the business and its partners plus the proper storage of data
Ensure that HSEQ procedures are adhered to.
Implement HSEQ policy and more particularly, the use of the reporting of incidents and near-misses,
The implementation of security towers at the sites.
Must be flexible to work at various locations
Qualifications and Competencies
A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent
Professional experience of more than 5 years in the finance or oil industry
Proficiency of accounting systems and international best practices
Good knowledge of the Group’s accounting principles, internal control and IFRS standards
Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
Behaviour and cultural competencies
Interpersonal and team leadership skill
Rigour, reliability, honesty and integrity
Good organizational and management skills
Availability, high mobility, sense of anticipation, initiative, attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure.
