Job Title : FINANCE OFFICER-AIM PROJECT

Staff Category : National

Duty Station : Country Office/Monrovia

 

Safeguarding Job Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve BRAC’s goals on safeguarding.
  2. Act as a resource of support and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  3. Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  4. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage other to do so.

 

Job Summary

Effecting payments and recording all financial transactions for the AIM project and provide input to regular reports to finance manager.

 

Key Duties

  • To maintain accounting records for daily transactions such as vouchers, cash book, cash certificates, payment evidence etc;

 

  • Effecting payments related to purchases, running costs salary, statutory deductions such as NASSCORP contributions , withholding tax to Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) etc. and ensure the same are captured correctly in the accounting system (SBI);

 

  • To manage all assets for the company and AIM project (Equipment, Furniture and Inventory) and effect respective entries in the accounting system such as capital values, Depreciation, Disposal, utilization of inventory and transfer between officers;

 

  • Prepare and submit regular financial reports as required by management and donor showing the financial position/ stability, value for money , and compliance with donor requirements;

 

  • Participating in procurement for all project purchases together with procurement and project staff. In doing this he/she ensure compliance to finance and accounts manual, procurement manual and donor’s requirements;

 

  • Prepare Cash certificate and Bank reconciliation for the project on daily/ monthly as required including cash requisitions and transfers from field offices (areas) to/ from Country Office;

 

  • Supporting internal and external audit by accurately recording of transactions, preparing vouchers /bills recording them timely and proper filing and perform other duties as will be assigned by the supervisor;

 

 

  • Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Establish a safeguarding culture cross all level of the Programmed by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Be responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and act in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure;
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourages others to do so.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

 

  • Respectful and honest. Accounting treatment related to grants and bank transactions;
  • Interpersonal communication skills and teamwork;
  • Good computer skills, preferably MS excel and MS words;
  • Professional competence with good knowledge on international transactions including management of donors and partners;
  • Knowledge on regulatory, contractual, legal and financial compliance requirements associated with international donor funding;
  • Ability to prepare bank reconciliation with minimum supervision and identify risk transactions and manage them;

Experience Requirements:

  • BBA Finance/Accounting/ Business Management/Banking
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be an added advantage
  • 3-5 years’ experience.

 

  • Educational Requirements: BBA in Finance, Accounting. Management& Banking
