Assignment: Responsible the overall management of the Food Security and Livelihood Component of the project in the targeted communities. Provide technical support to the FSL Field Officers and VSLA members to ensure sustained VSLA and IGA activities for empowering and improving the livelihood of community dwellers. | Means:General means: paper based | |
Diploma / Level of studies: Bachelor’s degree in general agriculture and or related community work background with at least 4 years’ experience in setting up VSLA among community members, working closely with community authorities, dwellers and health authorities especially in rural, hard to reach communities. Required skills: · Excellent knowledge in the formation and management of VSLA and IGA activities in rural communities · Experienced in field teams management · Strong leadership and ability to build capacity of others · High level of English (spoken and written), strong report writing ability · Knowledge of local languages is an asset · Flexibility for field work as the job requires overnight stay and travel to ‘hard to reach’ rural communities in the county · Rigor at work, high motivation · Ability to ride motorbike Objective 1: To provide technical support for the establishment and operationalization of the community based VSLA and IGA for the targeted communities Activities: · Provide technical guidance to the field teams and build their capacity · Conduct monitoring and supervision of all field activities · Identify challenges and provide mitigating measures in collaboration with the PM · Provide timely information to the PM on the progress of the activities Objective 2: To collect information on the nutrition and health situation in the area of intervention Activities: · Provide information and timely reports of all activities conducted in county to the PM · Identify possible problems and provide recommendations for solution · Contribute to the monthly reports · Any other tasks as assigned by line manager
