Job Title: Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GESI) Advisor (x1)

Location: Monrovia

Reporting To: Technical Director

Contract duration: Open-ended

Job Purpose: The Gender Advisor leads the integration of gender-sensitive programming elements in accordance with global best practices and donor requirements. The Gender Advisor participates in strategy, program implementation, program monitoring, and evaluation in relation to gender integration in the project. This includes capacity building and technical assistance to government, civil society, and community stakeholders.

Specific Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership to the Project to ensure integration of gender in program interventions focused on sanitation, design and deliver realistic and pragmatic gender strategies and programming interventions that will lead to positive gender equality outcomes, integrate gender equality considerations in Results-Based Management monitoring and reporting methods, track and report against gender indicators and disaggregate data by gender to analyze results within each domain, conduct gender assessments, reviews and audits to assess ways to continually target involvement of women in sanitation specific activities, review and provide technical feedback on results and project reports to donors in order to ensure quality and full compliance with gender policy and progress towards achieving integration of gender in program, advise and support the Programs and Partners to integrate gender into activities, develop tools, frameworks and resources to enable better gender integration in the Project, identify successful practices in the project that can be showcased in publications, communication materials and conferences, prepare communications materials that highlight the Project’s gender equality programming, successes and lessons learnt.

Capacity building:

In collaboration with the Technical Director, and Chief of Party identify staff and County partners capacity needs related to equality and gender transformation, provide capacity building through on the job mentoring and coaching, training, technical advice (remote and in person), tools etc. for staff and ,national partners to increase skills and knowledge as well as influence attitudes and behaviours, identify and coach Programme team equality champions to foster an appropriate working culture sensitive to equality and gender including organise events to enhance employee understanding of equality and inclusion issues

Representation and Advocacy:

Develop and maintain good professional relationships with relevant ministries, international agencies, NGOs, partners, service providers and other stakeholders working in the equality and gender at national/District level, assist in the development of effective, innovative actions in advocacy (related to equality) to achieve a

larger and more sustained impact through programmes, represent Concern in County and district level relevant meetings, consortia working groups and other workshops, and coordination forums.

Experience & Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, (gender studies, community development, human rights, or relevant social sciences) or equivalent. At least 5 years of equality and gender transformative analysis, programming, and mainstreaming in development/humanitarian contexts Demonstrated knowledge & understanding of equality, including gender transformation & drivers of exclusion, marginalization & inequality in Liberia Experience in networking and coordination with local authorities, national and international NGOs/UN agencies

Excellent English speaking/writing skills required.

Possessing a driver’s license and motorbike riding skills
