CRS/Liberia is inviting suitably qualified candidates for the position of Gender Intern. The Intern will be based in Monrovia and will work closely with the Gender Focal Point/Senior Project Officer.

The objective of the Internship:

Under the direct supervision of the Gender Focal Point/Senior Project Officer, the intern will provide service in the day-to-day delivery of responsive, effective, and efficient project activities in support of the CRS mission to serve the poor and vulnerable. The Intern will support and gain practical experience in gender integration in programs and operations. The gender intern will build relationships and experience working with staff, and partners, and learn from participating in activities that focus on mainstreaming gender. The gender focal point will provide mentoring and coaching support throughout the internship.

EXPECTED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in project gender-related activities with various projects, beneficiaries, partners, and local stakeholders
  • Act as “help desk” of the country program on where to find gender-related information and resources
  • Assist in organizing training for country program staff and partners.
  • Support the monitoring of project activities for the reporting of gender-specific indicators and disaggregation of gender data with support from CRS MEAL staff
  • Participate in project design and contribute to gender assessment and research for the purpose of mainstreaming gender in new projects
  • Lead the planning of gender events with support from the country program gender focal point and gender working group
  • Work with finance and operations staff to complete administrative tasks (e.g., travel authorizations, travel advances, goods & services requests, payment requests, etc.)

Internal: Gender Focal Point, Gender Working Group, Senior Project Officers, Operations Manager, Human Resource Officer, Project Officers, Program Manager, Partnership Coordinator, MEAL Associate, Business Development Specialist, Interns

External: CRS Liberia Implementing Partners, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

Travel: Monrovia will be the principal place of work with potential field visits to other counties
