Via River Mining Company (VRMC) is a Turkish Liberian Corporation established under the laws of Liberia to carry out Gold Mining activities in Lofa County, as authorized by the Government of Liberia, under License issued by the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

Geologist – Job Profile

Location: Field Locations, Lofa County, Republic of Liberia

Reports To: General Manager – Mining Operations

Contract Type: Fixed Term

1. Job Summary:

Via River Mining Company (VRMC) Incorporated, a private business corporation established under the laws of Liberia to acquire applicable license and undertake gold mining & related activities in Lofa County as authorized by the Government of Liberia. This role provides geological and related services to the VRMC mining operations.

2. Summary of Job Description

• Strategic Leadership
• Develop and implement VRMC’s authorized exploration programs aligned with corporate goals.
• Provide technical leadership and direction for all VRMC’s geological services in Liberia.
• Advise senior management on mineral potential, resource development, and exploration risk.
• Project Management
• Oversee the planning and execution of geological mapping, geochemical sampling, drilling, and resource estimation.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective execution of exploration programs.
• Coordinate geological modelling, data interpretation, and resource reporting (JORC, NI 43-101, or other relevant codes).
• Team Leadership
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of geologists, technicians, and support staff.
• Promote a strong safety culture and environmental responsibility among the geological team.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Liaise with government authorities, local communities, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and obtain necessary permits and approvals.
• Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance
• Enforce and promote a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to HSE regulations and best practices.
• Participate in risk assessments and implement corrective measures for safe site operations.
• Coordinate with HSE officers to conduct training, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Data Management & Reporting
• Maintain high standards of geological data collection, validation, and interpretation.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and updates for internal and external stakeholders, as well as government bodies such as Ministry of Mines and Geological survey.
• Problem Solving & Risk Management
• Identify operational issues proactively and implement timely solutions.
• Manage risks related to geological, environmental, compliance & related processes, ensuring business continuity.

3. Qualifications & Essential Requirements

• Degree in geological / mining engineering or related field from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable geological services experience in a Class B Gold Mining operation.
• Ability to prepare work plans, production records and technical reports in English
