Job Title: Grant & Compliance Coordinator

Duration: (6) Six Months with possibility of extension
Location: Monrovia
General Overview:
The Grant and Compliance Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting Child Smile Liberia in
consolidating its position as a partner of choice, working collaboratively at multiple levels with other NGOs,
civil society, government and the private sector. The Grant and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for
leading and guiding Child Smile Liberia in designing and building strategic partnership with donors. He/she
is also responsible for leading and ensuring quality programs/projects design, development and reporting
efforts and the relations with the partners.
Specific Duties:
 Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals to government, foundation and corporate sources.
 Generate revenue for programs and services through timely submission of well-researched, well written and well documented grant/fund-raising proposals.
 Identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as
well as coordinate the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to third-party entities.
 Gather and maintain current files on institutional programs and projects.
 Coordinate preparation, assembly, and delivery of proposal documents.
 Track status of proposals and follow up to provide additional information as required by funding sources.
 Assist in grant/contract project administration to include project startup and closeout of
grant/contract funded projects.
 Assure compliance through periodic reviews of reports for grant/contracts.
 Evaluate and review expenditure of funds for compliance with grant/contract stipulations to see
that expenditures are timely and appropriate.
 Establish and maintain the list of contacts and phone numbers important to the grant process.

 Coordinate the development of grant/contract management checkpoint reports and customize the
reports as needed for individual projects.
 Complete checkpoint reports quarterly to ensure that all grant/contract record-keeping, reporting
of requirements and restrictions are observed.
 Maintain familiarity with past and current funded grants.
Education and Experience:
 Bachelor’s degree in Business, Development studies, International Relations or its related field.
 Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience of successful grant proposal writing preferably for NGOs
Knowledge, and Skills:
 Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully;
develop alternative solutions.
 Ability to participate in professional development programs on grant/contract management.
 Knowledge and/or familiarity of computerized accounting practices and procedures.
 Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to accurately and
thoroughly communicate logic, clarity of thought, persuasiveness and creativity.
 Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
 Proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data.
 Ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.
 Highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes.
 Ability to work under pressure, use independent judgment and produce quality work product within
tight time constraints.
