AccessBank Liberia is currently looking for qualified Liberian to fill the position of: Head of Accounting

 

Main Responsibilities

The Head of Accounting is the principal supervisor of the Accounting Department. He/She ensures the routine of all financial procedures are implemented effectively to the required standard of ABL.

 

The Head of Accounting is the Principal Supervisor of the Accounting Department. His/her responsibilities shall include:

– Overall management of the Accounting Department

– To deputise for the Finance Manager/CFO when required

– Prepares of the monthly Trial Balance which includes reviewing and ensuring accuracy of balances

– Ensure preparation of all reports needed for AccessHolding (Accounting HO Berlin)

– Reviews and signs off on balance sheet reconciliation assigned to staff of the Department.

– Ensures preparation of monthly reports for timely submission to CBL

– Assist the Finance Manager/CFO in the preparation of the year-end financial statements

Responsible for ensuring routine financial procedures are implemented effectively and to the required standard. This includes:

– Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.

– Advise management through the Finance Manager/CFO about issues such as resource utilization and tax strategies.

– Ensure that there are quarterly assignments for all staffs of the Department and approving them.

Perform all other ad hoc tasks that may be assigned by the Finance Manager/CFO or Management Team

Minimum requirements & qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 3-4 years working experience in the related field

Other desirable qualities :

  • Honest, Thorough and Accurate
  • Good oral and written communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work against tight deadlines, flexible working hours and pressure

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

– Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, state policies and directives, and current accounting standards

– Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and non-organizational accounting personnel in order to facilitate financial activities Quality, Quantity & Accuracy of Work.

– This includes meeting deadlines, keeping agreements, compliance with formalities

  • – Ensure work quality and timeliness is in compliance with Bank’s internal standards/regulations and with existing legislations of Liberia Republic.
