Favilla Inc in Liberia is focused on delivering social and environmental impact by distributing Improved Cookstoves produced by our partner. Our Improved Cookstoves allow households to

  • Save money by reducing households charcoal consumption by 60%
  • Stay healthy by reducing smoke & soot by 80%
  • Save time by reducing cooking time by 50%

To scale our impact, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Distribution to lead our distribution strategy, manage teams, and optimize our channel mix to achieve our ambitious growth goals.

The successful candidate will work closely with Country Director to build a stable and profitable operation in the country.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Distribution Strategy

  • Develop and implement a strategic approach to balance and optimize B2B/B2G and B2C distribution
  • Analyze market opportunities for each type and devise plans to maximize coverage and profitability
  • Establish strong partnerships with organizations, institutions, and other potential stakeholders to drive B2B/B2G growth
  • Assess and refine B2C strategies to reach underserved communities effectively

Business development and partnerships building

  • Identify, engage, and negotiate with partners such as corporations, NGOs, government entities and community groups
  • Develop tailored pitch decks and presentations to secure new partnerships and deepen existing ones
  • Represent the program at events and meetings to advocate for clean cooking solutions and secure support

Financial and operational oversight

  • Assess the financial viability and profitability of various distribution deals and channel strategies
  • Monitor budgets and ensure alignment with organizational goals and sustainability
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring efficient stock levels across channels

Team leadership and field work management

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing distribution team
  • Set performance goals, monitor progress, and foster a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Oversee field operations, ensuring seamless implementation of distribution plans and resolving challenges promptly

Reporting and analysis

  • Track and analyze key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of distribution strategies
  • Prepare regular reports for the Country Director and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations

Skills and Experience:

Hard skills

  • 5+ years of experience in managing sales or distribution team, preferably in consumer durables / fast-moving consumer goods / microfinance
  • Strong understanding of B2B/B2G and B2C dynamics and landscape in Liberia, with a track record of successful partnership building
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to create compelling pitch decks
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess profitability and develop data-driven strategies.
  • Experience managing teams and coordinating field operations in dynamic environments.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Bachelor or MBA degree, preferably in business, market intelligence, or marketing
  • Knowledge of the sales and marketing fields in the Liberian context
  • Proficiency in using tools like Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM systems

Soft skills

  • Passion to drive positive social and environmental changes in the country
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and get things done with minimal supervision
  • Confidence in public presentation & closing sales
