Job Title : Head of Human Resources and Training

Duty Station : Country Office/Monrovia

Safeguarding Job Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve BRAC’s goals on safeguarding.
  2. Act as a resource of support and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  3. Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. d. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage other to do so.

Job Summary

The incumbent will manage a team of Human Resources staff and provide support to management working alongside program teams and with the HR officer(s), he/she will manage the development and implementation of high quality and appropriate HR processes, in line with BRAC International.

Key Duties

Manage the execution of BRAC Liberia HR Strategy and core areas of the HR department including Recruitment, Employee Relations, Workforce Administration, Employee Engagement, Payroll, Staff Appraisal, Reward and Recognition, as well as maintaining and improving HR systems and management of the HR budget.

Provide regular and timely reports on all areas of HR, Payroll and Learning and Development, including the application of labor Laws, BRAC HR policy, best practice and workforce development.

Advise and strategize on the review and updating of BRAC human resources policies to support short-term and long-term goals of BRAC International.

Monitor all aspects of HR compliance, employment legislation, supporting HRIS and evaluating relevant HR data.

Provide professional leadership, support and development to HR staff, in order to increase knowledge, and to ensure that relevant professional standards are met and maintained at all times.

Take a lead role in transforming and strengthening the organizational culture, ensuring that BRAC’s values and approaches are displayed.

Execute a plan for diversity, equality, and inclusion that aligns with BRAC’s code values and strategy.

Develop practices, and programs that attract, retain and develop the best possible talent in the marketplace and makes BRAC attractive through competitive pay and an engaging culture.

Ensure managers are sufficiently skilled and enabled to access appropriate guidance and information to manage workforce issues.

Propose and deliver new HR initiatives and cascade progressive HR practices, coordinate and communicate with head office and other countries, and support change management programs

Be strategically aligned with the CD and Organization’s vision.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time –management ,problem prevention & problem solving skills ● Able to liaise effectively with government offices to avail process or procedural approvals.
  • Skilled at finding the right people match with organizations requirements Knowledge of local HR legislations and the Decent Work Act (2015)
  • Knowledge in Microsoft word/Excel and PowerPoint presentation

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in similar role in an International Organization
  • Educational Requirements Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Public Administration or related subjects.
