Subj: HEAD OF LABORATORY

The Monrovia Breweries Inc. is seeking qualified candidate for a position of Head of Laboratory for its Brewhouse Department of the Breweries.

REQUIREMENTS:

PERSONALITY

The candidate shall be a mature, positive thinking person with good manners and stable character. The person shall be friendly, cooperative and communicative. Furthermore, he/she shall have an outstanding analytical thinking and solution-oriented attitude.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for all equipment calibration in the laboratory;
• Calibration of filter haze machine;
• Personally responsible for all micro authentications in the brewery;
• Oversight responsibility of all (CAT) Chemical Technical Analysis;
• Ensuring that individual personnel’s duties are carried out to the letter; • Oversight responsibility of Process Control (PC)
• Preparation of various reagents/chemical; chemical and shock solution • Preparing all SOP in the laboratory;
• Assist QAM in identifying and carrying out HACCP analysis in the Brewery; • Ensuring general well-being of MBI laboratory i.e., Sanitation, hygiene etc.; • Carry out all other task ensured by the Quality Assurance Manager;
• Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in conducting risk management assessments;
• High quality of supervision level, work oriented;
• Perform related duties as required by supervisor.

POSITION SPECIFICATION (Education, Training, Experience, Skills):

• BSc. Degree in Chemistry/Biology is a MUST
• Knowledge in HACCP is an advantage
• Knowledge of ISO certification and Risk Management is an added advantage. • Training or experience in basic Laboratory practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good human relation
• Ability to work under pressure and take initiative
• Leadership skills
• Ability to perform highly physical tasks
• Problem solving skills/ability
• Excellent attention to details and duties
• Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Access and power point is an added advantage
