Job Summary
The Head of Operations/Plant Foreman serves as the on-site leader for Edrine Rock Crusher Inc., responsible for the day-to-day management, safety, and productivity of the crushing plant and quarry operations. This role ensures that production targets, equipment reliability, workforce performance, and safety standards are met consistently, while acting as the primary link between field operations and the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Serve as the on-site leader, overseeing all daily rock crushing, screening, and quarry operations.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.
- Monitor plant performance and implement corrective actions to address downtime, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies.
- Ensure optimal utilization of crushers, loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment.
- Coordinate material stockpiling, aggregate sizing, and quality control in line with customer specifications.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise plant operators, equipment operators, drivers, and general laborers on-site.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor attendance, and evaluate staff performance.
- Train and mentor plant personnel on safe and efficient equipment operation.
- Enforce discipline, attendance, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Equipment & Maintenance Oversight
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance schedules with the maintenance team/mechanics.
- Conduct or oversee routine equipment inspections to minimize breakdowns and downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Recommend equipment repairs, replacements, or upgrades to the General Manager.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
- Conduct regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and site inspections.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
- Investigate and report incidents, accidents, or near-misses, and implement preventive measures.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production and operations reports to the General Manager.
- Track and report on fuel usage, material output, downtime, and workforce attendance.
- Maintain accurate site records, logs, and documentation for operational and audit purposes.
- Liaise with the General Manager on procurement needs, staffing, and operational challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in quarry, mining, crushing plant, or heavy equipment operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman capacity.
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Mining, Industrial Operations, or a related field is an advantage; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
- Strong working knowledge of rock crushing plant operations, heavy equipment, and quarry processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse on-site workforce.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Basic proficiency in record-keeping and reporting (written and computer-based reports).
- Valid driver’s license is an advantage.

Working Conditions
- Full-time, on-site position based at the plant/quarry location.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
- May require extended hours to meet production deadlines or address urgent operational issues.
